My Name Is Earl and Boy Meets World star Ethan Suplee has proudly shown off the results of a 250lb weight loss after completely transforming his life.
The 44-year-old actor, who was known for his often ‘big and bumbling’ on-screen persona, has been hitting the gym after an obsession with secret eating and dramatic dieting saw him tip the scales at over 500lbs by the age of 24.
Now, speaking to Men’s Health, Ethan has revealed that the secret to his success was to care less about his weight targets and more about his general wellbeing, and is thriving as a result.
He said: ‘I have successfully lost weight with every diet I stuck to in the past 20 years, but my goal was never more than that, lose weight.
‘I’m at my absolute pinnacle. I spent 35, 40 years without taking my shirt off in public.
‘The shadows haven’t been enhanced. There’s loose skin. There are scars. This is who I am.’

Ethan, who also starred in American History X, Santa Clarita Diet and The Hunt, has been working hard to feel more at ease with his body, and now he’s achieved it, he’s hoping to stick with it – which is easier said than done.
‘I’m trying now to learn to live in, and be happy with, the maintenance period…’ he said. ‘I spent decades adjusting to periods of suffering through dieting.

‘It worked. I’d get to my goal—and then very rapidly undo my goal.’
‘The way more important level for me now isn’t the period where I’m suffering, but the period where I’m in love with my life,’ he declared.
