Each week, publications from the Southern California News Group’s 11 properties (Orange County Register, L.A. Daily News, Press-Enterprise, San Gabriel Valley Tribune, Long Beach Press-Telegram, The Daily Breeze, San Bernardino Sun, Daily Bulletin, Redlands Daily Facts, Whittier Daily News and Pasadena-Star News) select the Athletes of the Week for their respective region.
Each athlete is then entered into the overall Southern California Athlete of the Week vote.
Click on the newspaper links below the athlete’s name to read about their performance from last week, and then vote for who you think deserves the top honor.
Readers are allowed to vote multiple times. Voting ends at midnight, but final totals aren’t always immediately reflected due to processing.

Drew Knight, Baldwin Park: The junior quarterback had another outstanding game for the undefeated Braves (7-0) in a 43-27 victory over Rowland. Knight completed 15 of 21 passes for 305 yards and four touchdowns and also ran for a touchdown. He is one of the area leaders this season with 1,751 yards passing and 21 touchdown passes.
Isaiah Sepand, Campbell Hall: Sepand delivered the game of his career when his team needed it most, throwing for 344 yards and three touchdowns on 19 of 27 passing to lead the Vikings to a 34-27 win at Rio Hondo Prep in a battle of unbeaten teams. Sepand has thrown 30 touchdowns this year in a breakout season as a junior. Campbell Hall is 8-0.
Brandon Rose, Murrieta Valley: Rose completed 22 of 28 passes for a career-high 430 yards and tossed four touchdowns in leading the Nighthawks to a 42-7 victory over Great Oak in a Southwestern League game. He threw two touchdowns apiece to Tiger Bachmeier and Tayven Lamprey. Rose, who has committed to Utah, has completed 69.7% of his passes for 1,846 yards through seven games, and he has thrown 20 touchdowns and no interceptions this season.
James Rozolis-Hill, Huntington Beach: He scored five goals in the Oilers’ 15-12 win over Newport Harbor to give them sole possession of first place in the Sunset League. Earlier this month Rozolis-Hill, a 6-foot-5 center, scored five goals in a 9-6 win over Foothill in the S&R Sport tournament championship game. He has committed to Harvard. Huntington Beach (16-2 overall) is tied with Mater Dei for No. 1 in the CIF-SS Division 1 poll.
Jake Snow, Mayfair: The 5-11, 180-pound outside linebacker made the critical plays at the finish in a 15-10 victory over La Mirada in a Suburban League showdown. On a goal-line stand in the final seconds, Snow stopped Matt Gallegos on third-and-goal at the Mayfair 5, then sacked Nehuel Garcia on fourth down to end the game. He finished with 12 tackles, six of them solo and one for a loss.
Caleb Nuhi-Yandall, Banning: Nuhi-Yandalll rushed for 320 yards on 32 carries and scored two touchdowns in Banning’s 56-24 win over Carson. He also recorded five …read more
