SAN JOSE — Police arrested a trainer at a martial arts school July 9 on suspicion of possessing child sexual abuse material, authorities said.
The 48-year-old suspect, a resident of San Jose, was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail after his arrest, according to a news release from the San Jose Police Department.
The suspect was reportedly seen illegally downloading child sexual abuse material at his home, authorities said. In March, SJPD’s Internet Crimes Against Children/Child Exploitation Detail Task Force conducted an investigation into the suspect. The suspect was identified with the help of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
In the investigation, police found child sexual abuse material, authorities said. They also found that the suspect had possibly been talking with underage girls online.
The suspect works at a martial arts school as a master trainer, authorities said. He was listed as the only instructor at the San Jose martial arts school that offers martial arts classes to adults, according to its website.
