Kevin James is set to star in a new film, and one of his famous friends is joining him!
The “King of Queens” actor appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and revealed country star Jelly Roll will also be in the new flick.
Jelly Roll, who was the guest host on Thursday, July 17, asked James about his upcoming film.
âYou have been prepping for a film I know youâre excited about,” Jelly Roll began. “You are coming into the country music space, and youâre going to shoot a country music film.â
James dished about how the film is “going to be a crazy oneâ and how the “Son of a Sinner” singer is joining him.
âYou know how crazy it is because my man is doing it with me,” he said to Jelly Roll. “Youâre going to be my partner in crime.”
Jelly Roll said he would of course be a part of it.
âThereâs no way Iâm letting you do a country music movie and not be a part of it,â he told James.
James Previously Joined Jelly Roll During a Show
Jelly Roll gave a performance on June 21 at Ohioâs Buckeye Country Superfest and shocked fans when he brought out James.
The two were dressed identically as they were both in an all-black ensemble. They both wore a T-shirt, vest, backwards hat, and pants.
When James came out, Jelly Roll told the actor, “You look like you mean all business right now, youâre trying to do a little rock nâroll music out here, right? Youâre not here to play around.”
They then ended up performing âNeed a Favorâ together.
James wasn’t done, though. He once again crashed Jelly Rollâs set at the Barefoot Country Music Fest a day later in Wildwood, New Jersey.
James Dished on the Appearance
The “Paul Blart: Mall Cop” actor told PEOPLE how the appearance came to be.
James dished on how Jelly Roll is a “great friend of mine” and how he’s a “wonderful human being.” He said it was just a lucky coincidence that he was able to sing with his friend.
âWe just happened to be in Columbus together, and we just went out and had fun,â he told the outlet.
Since he performed with Jelly Roll, James also came out to sing with Thomas Rhett on July 13 in Wantagh, New York, according to iHeart Country.
James has been slowly inching his way into the country music sphere. Before his multiple performances, James appeared in country singer Nate Smith’s music video for “Nobody Likes Your Girlfriend” in February.
