Jake Paul insists he will fight Anthony Joshua and hopes to do so at Wembley, where he says he will beat the former heavyweight champion.

The social media star has built a professional boxing record of 12-1, with his only defeat coming by split decision to Tommy Fury in 2023.

His victories have come against a mix of MMA fighters, boxers long past their best and journeyman professionals.

However, he wants to step up to the elite level and take on Joshua (28-4) at heavyweight and is adamant that he will get his wish.

‘It’s gunna happen,’ Paul told talkSPORT. ‘I want it to happen here [Wembley], all the odds stacked against me.

‘I believe that I will beat him, shock the world and create one of the biggest upsets in boxing history.’

He also told DAZN: ‘We’re going to do the unthinkable and create one of the biggest fights in the history of boxing.

‘It’s not even about it being realistic or not, it’s going to happen. Fasten your seatbelts or whatever and when I knock him out I go down in the history books forever.’

Paul was in attendance for the Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois bout at Wembley for the unified heavyweight title on Saturday night.

Tyson Fury is coming off back-to-back defeats to Usyk and he has weighed in on a possible Paul vs Joshua bout, claiming to be extremely confident in the man who would be a huge underdog.

‘I think Jake Paul knocks the motherf***er out! Why not?’ Fury said.

‘Seriously, I think Jake Paul chins AJ if they fight. 100 per cent. If they fight, I’m putting £1m on Jake Paul.’

Reacting to Fury’s faith in him, Paul said: ‘I saw that! He’s backing me. He’s a smart lad.’

Joshua has not fought since being stopped by Dubois in September last year, but has been linked with facing Fury next year.

The most powerful man in boxing, Saudi powerbroker Turki Alalshikh, is also on board with a Paul vs Joshua contest.

Asked by TalkSPORT of the possibility of the bout, he said: ‘We are talking now about the future, let’s see. Why not? It’s a win-win deal.’

Speaking about his own future, Fury (34-2-1) confirmed the least surprising news imaginable, that he intends to return from his latest retirement, set to box again next year.

Speaking at a Goldstar Promotions event, the Gypsy King said: ‘I do miss it, every single day I wake up in the morning and miss it. I’ve been away seven months, missed it everyday. I’m open to offers at the moment.

‘I’m not going to be doing any comebacks this year, that’s for sure. I’m busy as you can see I’ve got Netflix here.

‘I’m filming At Home With The Furys season two and then next year the big GK is going to make a f***ing comeback.

‘The takeover! I’m gonna be 37 in about three weeks so I’m going to be the oldest swinger with all these young boys coming up it’s going to be difficult. But I believe I can put on some very good nights still.’
