A person was killed Saturday in a crash on the 405 Freeway in Sherman Oaks.
The crash occurred about 3:30 a.m. Nov. 1 on the northbound 405 Freeway south of Burbank Boulevard near the 101 Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The preliminary investigation determined a Mazda sedan was involved in a solo crash and became disabled in lanes facing the wrong way, the CHP stated.
A Ford SUV then sideswiped the Mazda, and a Toyota SUV struck the sedan head-on.
The driver of the Mazda was pronounced dead at the scene. The person’s name, gender and age were not immediately released.
The Toyota driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, the CHP stated. She was identified as 37-year-old Mayra Alejandra Sanchez of Granada Hills.
The crash remained under investigation.
A Sigalert issued at 3:47 a.m. closing the northbound 405 Freeway at the 101 Freeway was canceled at 8:10 a.m., the CHP stated.
