Kylie Jenner cut “a distinctly lonely figure” at the star-studded party that Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez threw for her mother’s 70th birthday party Saturday night because her famous boyfriend of two-and-a-half years, Timothée Chalamet, was nowhere to be seen, according to a report.
Chalamet’s absence has fueled rumors about his on-again-off-again romance with the Kylie Cosmetics founder, with a source telling the Daily Mail that the 29-year-old “Dune” actor has “broken up with Kylie.” But the source added that “this has happened before – but she talked him into getting back together. She is crazy about him so that could well happen again.”
“There is trouble in paradise, but they aren’t completely over,” a second source told the Daily Mail. Chalamet apparently is busy with work, “filming quite a bit, and she feels that she has to chase him,” the source said. “She is putting in the work more than him.”
Kris Jenner’s Instagram posts from her party were filled with photos of the A-list attendees — Beyonce, Oprah Winfrey, Mariah Carey, Tyler Perry, Mariah Carey, Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg. Other guests in attendance included Jay-Z, Justin and Hailey Bieber and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Several photos also showed Kylie Jenner, wearing a plunging, backless white gown. She seemed to be getting into the spirit of the celebrations, raising a glass, as she stood in a family group photo with her mother and sisters. But talk about the nature of her relationship with Chalamet heated up again last week, when the Oscar-nominated heartthrob sat for a cover interview with Vogue magazine and seemed to be dismissive of the romance.
After the Vogue writer noted that Chalamet would “not talk about his relationship” with Jenner, the writer also quoted him as saying that he didn’t have “any fear” in talking about it. “I just don’t have anything to say,” he said.
The pairing of Chalamet and Jenner has long struck many as unexpected. It reportedly began in April 2023 after they met at Paris Fashion Week. In addition to being enough of a sex symbol that he’s inspired his own rabid fan base, known as “Club Chalamet,” he also has earned serious artist credibility, following his two Oscar nominations, including for transforming into 1960s Bob Dylan for the film “A Complete Unknown.” He’s likely to nab another nomination for his performance in this year’s “Marty Supreme,” opposite Gwyneth Paltrow.
Meanwhile, 28-year-old Jenner already is the mother of two young children with rapper Travis Scott and she’s a reality TV star, along with other members of her notorious family. For Chalamet to get serious about Jenner, he needs to enter “the Kardashian vortex,” as the Lainey Gossip site once put it. This vortex refers to the whirling mass of global fame, controversy, personal commodification and self-promotion that surrounds Jenner and her family.
By entering this vortex, “there is a price,” Lainey Gossip said. The biggest price being that, “well, nothing is ever a secret. Everything is worth trade.”
