Kicked out Big Brother contestant George Gilbert has claimed he is not allowed back for the finale – on or off screen – in an angry social media post.

The 23-year-old parish councillor stirred up plenty of controversy during his short time in the house by jumping into debates with people over immigration, housing and LGBT rights and representation.

The ITV reality series issued a number of warnings to Gilbert after he made comments such as saying he would ‘feel like he is betraying his kind’ by having a baby with a Black woman and arguing Hitler was ‘misguided’ over his views on Jewish people.

Ultimately, it was his comments around the Jewish community which led to his removal during a discussion about conspiracy theories.

Although ITV did not share the exact comments at the time, Gilbert later took to YouTube to share the reason for himself.

He revealed that during the discussion, he said he believes antisemitism should be ‘stamped out’ but that he ‘does understand why people are sceptical about some Jewish conspiracy at the top of the pecking order’, claiming the ‘finest minds in human history’ had antisemitic tropes in their writing.

His comments left the housemates and viewers horrified, and after he was booted, he declared he was kicked out for simply ‘asking a question’ and it is a sentiment he is sticking with after the alleged ban.

On X, he wrote: ‘That’s it then. Not only am I banned from the Late and Live finale, but also the untelevised reunion party of Big Brother. What did I do again? I asked a question.

‘This is a ridiculously disproportionate response designed to make an example of me and castrate all future contestants from going against the grain.

He concluded that he ‘didn’t intend to make this political’ before implying on UK television, people on the left were allowed to be ‘offensive’ but not on the right.

‘So much for inclusivity,’ he capped the post off.

In a statement at the time of his removal, ITV said: ‘‘Following repeated use of unacceptable language and behaviour, George has been removed from the Big Brother house with immediate effect and will no longer participate in the programme.’

After almost seven weeks away from the rest of society, the live final will take place on Friday, November 14, hosted by AJ Odudu and Will Best.

The remaining housemates, Richard, Jenny, Cameron, Teja, Emily, Marcus, Elsa and Tate, are all competing for a space in the final and to ultimately be voted victor.

Big Brother airs on ITV2 at 9pm this week.
