The Los Angeles Rams have already had to go without one of their top wideouts this season, and they remain without one of their top complementary options. However, the Rams can breathe a sigh of relief about All-Pro veteran Davante Adams.
Moreover, the six-time Pro Bowler delivered the good news to Rams head coach Sean McVay himself.
It was an encouraging beginning to a big week for the Rams, who face the Seattle Seahawks.
Sean McVay Relays Good News From Davante Adams
GettyLos Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay talks with Davante Adams #17 during warmups before a game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Adams picked up an oblique injury in Week 10 against the San Francisco 49ers, but McVay said he expects Adams to play in Week 11 at home against another of their NFC West rivals, the Seahawks.
That is because Adams said so.
âI do, yeah,â McVay told reporters on November 12. âThatâs what he tells me. Heâs feeling good. And so, I trust the man. Heâll be ready.â
McVay said after the game that he believed Adams could have returned after exiting early. But with the game in hand, the Rams erred on the side of caution with Adams, much like they did with Puka Nacua when he got injured against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 6.
The ominous part about that is that Nacua missed Week 7 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
âWeâll see how it feels next week,â Adams told reporters postgame of the âbitingâ injury. âItâs like my side oblique area, whatever. Iâm not too good at anatomy, and biology, and all that. So, I donât want to mislabel it, but whateverâs on this side below my ribs. Muscular situation. Something like that.â
Davante Adams Continuing to Climb the Ranks

Adams moved into eighth on the all-time receiving TDs list in Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints, and he climbed another list in Week 10, drawing more recognition from the organization for his efforts.
âIn Week 10, Davante Adams passed Brandon Marshall (12,351) in career receiving yards and moved to 26th all-time,â Los Angeles Rams PR posted on X on November 12.
McVay was effusive with praise for Adams after the game.
âI can just tell you how grateful I am to be working with him. And how smart, how special of a human being he is, first and foremost. And the, obviously, heâs feeling good. Weâve seen the rapport between he and Matthew [Stafford] really start to come to life,â McVay said postgame on November 9.
âI think heâs playing as really his best ball. Heâs just getting better and better. Heâs like a fine wine; just getting better with age. But we love him. I love being around him. I love everything that heâs about, and he is a big-time guy for our football team.â
Davante Adams Can Continue Trend vs Seahawks

Adams enters Week 11 with the Rams one shy of 1,000 receptions in his career. That will tie Adams with Pittsburgh Steelers icon and fellow wideout Hines Ward for 16th on the all-time receptions list.
He remains four TD receptions shy of tying Antonio Gates for seventh place on that list.
Adams has a 3-TD game this season, catching five passes for 35 yards in the Ramsâ win over the Jaguars in London in Week 7.
