David and Victoria Beckham are ‘eager for the feud with their son Brooklyn to be resolved’.

For most of this year, the family have been under the spotlight after it emerged there’d been a falling out with their eldest son, 26, and his wife Nicola Peltz, 30.

Some signifiers that all was not well included the couple skipping his dad’s 50th birthday celebrations, snubbing the Beckham’s from their vow renewal and failing to attend other milestone events including the former footballer being knighted at Windsor Castle last week.

Although the family have not publicly addressed what has unfolded, this week a source said Brooklyn and Nicola were ready to make amends – but would ‘settle for nothing less than a substantive and public apology from his parents’.

This was apparently due to the fact they had issues with the way Nicola believes she was treated in a ‘one-sided media war’.

Now, another source close to the family has weighed in and explained that David and Victoria want to reach a resolution.

‘David and Victoria have always wanted the feud with Brooklyn to be resolved,’ they told Metro.

‘They’d love to have him back in the picture but feel as if there are things to hash out in their relationship.

‘They want to move forward as a family and could be open to hearing Brooklyn’s side of things.’

This development comes after a source told the Daily Mail that the couple ‘did nothing that would have deserved this treatment’.

‘It is hard to understand the intensity and the escalation [of the media stories]. It seems that they thought they could heap abuse on Nicola without any consequence. They did not let up,’ they said.

‘There was a public trashing which kept on going. Someone should have told them to stop because it was not in their best interest to do this to their own son, but nobody did.’

The source went on to say that it ‘seemed as if things were being said without any regard being paid to the impact on Brooklyn’, who is ‘loyal to his wife’.

They continued: ‘There is an obvious first step which would be a public acknowledgement [by David and Victoria] of what they did, and an apology. It cannot be a performative thing. There is no realistic chance of a reconciliation without that happening first.’

It’s also been claimed that Brooklyn and Nicola believe that one of his parent’s closest aides allegedly briefed the media with stories that were ‘intended to demonise and upset them’, adding the nuggets were ‘untrue or out of context’.

Despite the ongoing drama, Brooklyn and Nicola have avoided addressing it in recent social media posts.

On Tuesday he posted a video promoting his Cloud23 hot sauce – which he launched last year and named in honour of his dad’s number 23 jersey from his time at Real Madrid and LA Galaxy.

The clip showed Brooklyn making a burger and fries, however he was flooded with comments from people mentioning his family’s ongoing dispute.

‘No one cares mate you going to say well done to your dad?’ a comment from a user called Alex read.

‘Call your mum bro,’ Goran wrote.

‘Life’s too short go call your parents,’ Angela added.

However, he was also defended by serval others. ‘Folks, he’s making a smash burger and trying to find joy through sharing his cooking. He’s not asking your advice and you’re not a family guidance counsellor,’ Peter commented.

Meanwhile Nicola was also met with a string of similar comments on a post she shared last week that showed her posing in a white dress.

Last month Victoria made a rare comment about her estranged son.

During an interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, host Alex Cooper showed Victoria photos from her life and asked for her perspective on some iconic moments, one of which was a snap from her famously purple wedding day.

‘Aw, look at baby Brooklyn,’ she said, when shown a photo from their wedding day of her holding Brooklyn as a baby alongside David.

She was then questioned by Alex about how she’s navigated stepping back to ‘allow her children to make their own decisions’. ‘I mean, we’re such a close family,’ the former Spice Girl said.

‘You know, communication is key, and we always let them know that anything they want to talk about, this is a safe forum. That’s really important. But they’ve got to go on their on their journeys themselves,’ she said.

Pressed on how she and her husband navigated changing dynamics, Victoria maintained: ‘Again, it’s just about communicating. We’ve always been that way with the kids. And I’m excited for them, they’re all very different. They all like to do different things.’

Weighing into the nepo baby debate, she also urged people to ‘just give the kids a chance’.

Metro has contacted representatives for Brooklyn Beckham for comment.
