Two people died in a Monday morning crash while fleeing from Aurora police officers in a stolen car, according to the department.
The Aurora Police Department first posted about the crash involving a stolen car at E. Alameda Avenue and S. Peoria Street at 11:53 a.m. Monday.
Both people inside the car died, police said in an update. It’s unknown if they died at the scene of the crash or at the hospital.
Investigators said the car was speeding down Peoria when the driver tried to turn left onto Alameda and crashed into a pole.
Both of the crash victims will be identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office.
Additional information about the crash was not available Monday afternoon.
