<p id=”par-1_12″>Elizabeth “Libby” Castravet is processing the <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/90-day-fiance-elizabeth-castravet-dad-chuck-potthast-dead.html/”>loss of her father, Chuck Potthast</a>. </p>
<p id=”par-2_44″>On November 23, the <em>90 Day Fiancé </em>star shared that Chuck – who often appeared with his daughter and <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/90-day-fiance-andrei-elizabeth-libby-potthast-sisters-snakes.html/”>son-in-law, Andrei Castravet</a>, on the TLC show – had died. Libby was “completely shattered” by the sudden passing of her “sweet, loving, and caring dad.” </p>
<p id=”par-3_41″>“Every day feels like a bad nightmare I can’t wake up from. It’s surreal, and I don’t know how this hole in my heart can ever be filled. I love you so much daddy,” she wrote in a follow-up <a href=”https://www.instagram.com/p/DRh-RMVD7rJ/?img_index=1″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Instagram</a> post.</p>

<p id=”par-4_9″>Now, Libby is opening up about mourning her dad. </p>
<p id=”par-5_19″>“I’ve never had to navigate something quite as difficult as grief before,” Libby wrote in November 29 <a href=”https://www.instagram.com/p/DRplS_egAp9/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Instagram</a> post. </p>
<p id=”par-6_29″>Libby said that in addition to managing her own profound feelings of loss, she also has to explain to her two young children about the death of their grandfather. </p>
<p id=”par-7_56″>“Andrei and I are doing everything in our power to make sure our kids remain happy and on a normal routine. I try to think of doing the things we normally do but then catch myself feeling guilty along the way.” she wrote. “I try to smile and feel better but honestly deep down I’m hurting.”</p>

<p id=”par-8_20″>The reality TV personality went on to reach out for help from her followers who had experienced profound loss themselves. </p>
<p id=”par-9_16″>“What are some ways you’ve dealt with grief and what helped you get through[?]” she asked. </p>
<p id=”par-10_9″>“Time, crying, remembering, laughing & prayers,” one person replied. </p>
<p id=”par-11_50″>“It’s so hard,” another shared. “I lost my father 10 years ago and I’m not sure it gets easier, you just settle into it. The memories will hold you together, think of the times you had with him. Sharing stories of him will help. I’m so sorry for your loss.”</p>
<p id=”par-12_24″>Others suggested going to therapy, revisiting old family photos, or reading specific grief-focused books. Several mentioned the importance of not bottling up your feelings. </p>
<p id=”par-13_14″>Fellow <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/90-day-fiance-before-90-days-tell-all-benjamin-calls-out-kimberly-predator.html/”><em>90 Day </em>alum Kim Menzies</a> advised Libby to give herself grace and patience. </p>
<p id=”par-14_57″>“Losing anyone especially a parent, is one of the hardest things in life,” she wrote. “When I lost my mom in 2022 I couldn’t even get out of bed for days. Take it one day at a time and do little things that make your soul feel better. I love y’all and I’m a phone call away.” </p>
