Taylor Swift has a lot to be thankful for this season, including being engaged to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. On Monday, December 1, news dropped giving Swift even more reason to have thanks.
Swift has been doing media appearances to support her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” which arrived on October 3. Even without that work, Swift is such a big name that she would chart, but all of the hard work is paying off, and Swift is breaking records left and right.
Swift has been making chart history with both the album and the record’s single, “The Fate of Ophelia.” At this point, Swift is breaking not only the records on the Billboard chart of other artists, but she’s also breaking her own records.
“I wanted melodies that were so infectious that you were almost angry at it and lyrics that are just as vivid, but crisp and focused and completely intentional,” Swift said of the vibe of her album on Travis and Jason Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast when she announced her new album in August.
As for recording her new album, she said, “I would be playing three shows in a row, I’d have three days off. I’d fly to Sweden, go back to the tour, and I was pretty exhausted at this point in the tour, but I was so mentally simulated and so excited to be creating.” So, it was an exhausting process.
More Big News for Taylor Swift
On Monday, December 1, Swift’s single “The Fate of Ophelia” tied “Anti-Hero” as her longest-leading Hot 100 hit, according to research from Billboard. It’s spend eight weeks at No. 1.
The showing is extra significant, because now Swift is competing with holiday music on the chart. “Elsewhere in the Hot 100’s top 10, Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ leads four festive holiday songs rising in the region, up from No. 8 to No. 5,” Billboard notes. “It’s joined by Wham!’s ‘Last Christmas’ (11-6), Brenda Lee’s ‘Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree’ (13-7) and Bobby Helms’ ‘Jingle Bell Rock; (14-8).”
The Hot 100, according to Billboard, mixes all-genre U.S. streaming, including official audio and official video, radio airplay and sales data, the lattermost metric reflecting purchases of physical singles and digital tracks from full-service digital music retailers. They add that digital singles sales from direct-to-consumer sites aren’t included in the chart numbers, so Swift’s actual numbers are likely much higher.
Will Taylor Swift Be at the Kansas City Chiefs vs Houston Texans Game?
By now, it’s obvious that Swift attends Kelce’s home games, but not his away ones. So, will Swift be at the Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans game?
All signs point to yes, but she’s been keeping a low profile at games lately. “Taylor Swift has been keeping a lower profile during Travis Kelce’s 2025-2026 NFL season in part to avoid “excessive attention” on herself,” Elle magazine reports in an October 29 feature.
“The singer has been attending home games,” they add, “but sneaking into Arrowhead Stadium without being filmed or photographed.”
