With Black Friday itself finally here, these are the best Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 game deals in terms of price and quality.
If you managed to grab a Nintendo Switch 2 at a discount for Black Friday, you’re obviously going to need some games to go along with it.
Unsurprisingly, it seems not many Switch 2 games are seeing price cuts at the moment, be it on Nintendo’s website or at other retailers. But we’ve managed to find a few good deals going around, as well as plenty of offers on Switch 1 games that run on Switch 2 through its backwards compatibility feature.
We’ve narrowed down what’s available to what we consider to be 10 of the best games you can pick up for Switch and Switch 2, based on both their quality and how good of a bargain they are.
Crash Bandicoot – Quadrilogy Bundle – £27.99
Of all the many attempts to make a platform mascot to rival Mario, the only ones that have had any real staying power are Sonic the Hedgehog and Crash Bandicoot. Since the latter is now owned by Activision there haven’t been many new games in recent years but this bundle includes the excellent remakes of the original three PS1 games (by none other than The Last Of Us maker Naughty Dog) and the more modern sequel.

Donkey Kong Bananza – £48.95
A physical copy of Donkey Kong Bananza would typically set you back £67, but if you’ve not already snapped it up, you can now get it for less than £50, courtesy of Amazon. With fantastic destruction effects, mountains of content, and so much freedom in how you experience it, it’s no wonder this is a Game of the Year contender.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga – Deluxe Edition – £11.99
You can always count on Lego games seeing generous discounts during Black Friday, but if we could only pick one to recommend, it’s easily Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. It’s a perfect family game to play with young relatives at Christmas and best of all, it’s the Deluxe Edition that’s discounted, which throws in even more playable characters, such as the Mandalorian and Cassian Andor.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door – £37.49
If you’ve only ever played the more modern Paper Mario games, you owe it to yourself to try its most beloved entry. The adulation Thousand-Year Door has received is well deserved, as it boasts surprisingly deep turn-based combat and one of the funniest scripts in any Nintendo game. This Switch 1 remake is top notch too, especially at this reduced price.

Persona 5 Royal – £19.24
Even if you’ve already played Persona 5 Royal on another platform, it’s almost worth grabbing it on Switch for that discount alone. While it lacks a Switch 2 upgrade, it still runs incredibly well and loses none of its visual flair even at 30fps. The turn-based combat and dungeon crawling was already fantastic in the original version, but the Royal re-release’s improvements only make one of the best Japanese role-players of the generation even better.

Shinobi: Art Of Vengeance – £17.49
Sega’s Shinobi reboot only launched a few months ago and was already fairly affordable, but if you still found it too pricey then this discount should change your mind. What it lacks in new ideas it more than makes up for with excellent combat, consistently fun boss fights, and strong level design. Hopefully Sega’s other retro reboots, like Crazy Taxi, will be just as successful.

Star Wars Outlaws Gold Edition – £27.85
We’ve always stood by Star Wars Outlaws as one of the better Star Wars games available right now and if you have any affection for the franchise, you really have no excuse not to play it. This Switch 2 port is not only affordable and comes with the season pass, but it’s an excellent port that gives a clear indication of just how powerful the Switch 2 is.

The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom – £37.49
If you’re in the mood for a Legend Of Zelda game where Zelda gets to be the lead (that isn’t Hyrule Warriors), then now’s the time to snap up Echoes Of Wisdom. Its echoes concept, of being ablet to manifest almost any object by using a magic wand, is extremely clever, allowing for a lot of experimentation throughout the adventure. A perfect alternative for those who find Breath Of The Wild too intimidating in its scope.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 – £33.29
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 was already one of the Switch’s most technically impressive games but thanks to a free Switch 2 update, it boasts shorter load times and far less slowdown during its more hectic moments. This is easily one of the best modern role-playing games on any system, not just Switch, and worth experiencing even if you haven’t played the previous entries.

Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut – £31.49
One of the best looking Switch 2 ports so far, with 60fps and 4K support, this is the perfect entry point for Nintendo owners to jump into the wide and wacky world of the Yakuza series (aka Like A Dragon). Even years after its initial release, the action combat remains fantastic, and it has a genuinely gripping crime drama narrative. Just ignore the uncessary multiplayer mode.
