Actors Billy Crystal and Larry David were both seen at Rob Reiner’s house following news of the legendary actor’s tragic passing, PEOPLE reports. The two arrived separately at the house on Dec. 14.
ABC 7 Los Angeles added that Crystal and David “stayed briefly before departing, with Crystal being described by a neighbor as, “looked like he was about to cry.”
Reiner had a close bond with Crystal, having worked with him on numerous projects, including “When Harry Met Sally,” where Crystal played the main character, along with “This Is Spinal Tap” where he starred as Morty the Mime, as well as “The Princess Bride,” in which he portrayed Miracle Max. But their friendship began when they met on the set of “All In The Family” in 1975. As for David, he appeared in the comedian’s HBO series “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”
Mia Sorvino Pays Tribute To ‘Wonderful’ Rob Reiner
Actress Mia Sorvino took to Instagram after the news of Reiner’s passing was announced, posting a beautiful tribute.
“I am in absolute shock,” she wrote. “Rob Reiner was a legend and a kind, brilliant man, a wonderful actor to work opposite on Hollywood, an iconic director. His wife Michele was a lovely generous person- I wish I had been able to get to know her better. The world has lost two tremendous humans. He was so funny and intelligent – we had a great time shooting what could have been awkward scenes but his wit and warmth made all that go away. Talking with him on and off the set was a joy. This doesnât seem possible. My deepest sorrow and condolences and prayers go out to their family.”
The two co-starred in the Netflix series “Hollywood,” with Sorvino portraying Jeanne Crandall, while Reiner played Ace Amberg.
Rob Reiner’s Family Releases Statement
The family of Rob Reiner has released a statement following news that Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer, had tragically died.
âIt is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner. We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time,â his family said in a statement, via Variety.
The outlet further adds that their deaths are being âinvestigated as a homicide,” with PEOPLE reporting that the coupleâs son, Nick, is believed to be involved in the incident, while adding that their bodies were discovered by their daughter, Romy.
