While Owens is set to head to Texas, Wisconsin, and Nevada, he won’t be visiting with Nicolle Briscoe’s family and friends in Florida. Nicolle was sent packing during last week’s episode, and many fans were not sad to see her go. She positioned herself as the show’s villain early on, and that didn’t really change. So, what did she do that was so bad?</p>

<p id=”par-2_64″>Nicolle Briscoe has a big personality. Some fans loved that about her, while others hated it. Even her fans, however, can’t excuse her needless and completely unprovoked attack on the ladies of season 1 of <em>The Golden Bachelor. </em>Early in the competition, Nicole Briscoe made a flippant comment that suggested the ladies of season 1 were decidedly unattractive when <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/the-golden-bachelor-season-2-leads-to-more-disappointment-as-mel-owens-fumbles-a-fan-favorite.html/”>compared to season 2’s contestants.</a></p>

<p id=”par-3_77″>She commented while advising her fellow contestants, most of whom did not ask, on how to leverage their time on the show to become an influencer. During her pep talk, she said the women of the show’s first season were “not great looking.” She later apologized, saying the comment was unkind. Her apology was similar to <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/mel-owens-says-he-didnt-know-his-age-comments-were-offensive-is-there-hope-for-the-golden-bachelor-season-2.html/”>Mel Owens’ apology </a>after making ageist remarks. He apologized for his comments, claiming he didn’t know what he said was offensive.</p>
<h2 class=”wp-block-heading” id=”h-she-made-it-clear-she-was-on-the-show-for-exposure-not-love”>She made it clear she was on the show for exposure, not love</h2>
<p id=”par-4_90″>Mel Owens didn’t pick Nicolle Briscoe as his potential soulmate. She did not care. Birscoe made it pretty clear from early on that an eligible bachelor was not what drew her to California. The 64-year-old yoga instructor didn’t seem to care if Mel Owens was standing in front of her. <span style=”margin: 0px; padding: 0px;”>To be fair, it wouldn’t</span> have made any difference if it had been any of the men from <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/reality-tv/joan-vassos-picks-next-golden-bachelor.html/”>Joan Vassos’ season of The Golden Bachelorette,</a> or someone they pulled off the street. She was going to play the game the same way.</p>

<p id=”par-5_86″>Nicolle told other contestants that she made a promise to herself not to date the man, but to date all of America. Briscoe noted that the exposure from appearing on <em>The Golden Bachelor</em> was priceless. She certainly seems motivated to make the most of it. We aren’t sure of everything Briscoe is planning to do with her newfound fame. We know it involves being an active member of Bachelor Nation, though. She was campaigning for her spot on <em>The Golden Bachelorette</em> before leaving this season. </p>

<p id=”par-6_65″>Nicolle Briscoe was eliminated from the competition in week 4, leaving Mel Owens with three potential soulmates. While some contestants find <em>The Golden Bachelor </em>cameras invasive, Nicolle Briscoe used her final moments on camera carefully. She made it clear that while Mel Owens didn’t choose her, the rest of the world could. She said they could petition for her to become the next Golden Bachelorette.</p>

<p id=”par-7_101″>Briscoe was so exceptionally unbothered by being dumped by Mel Owens that it didn’t sit right with fans of the franchise. While many men and women sign up for the dating competition for exposure, fame, and potential money, only a few are so unapologetically brazen about it. Briscoe has been strikingly forthcoming with her motivations. It is a bit refreshing. Still, it also makes her one of the most unsettling villains in Bachelor Nation history. That is saying something; there have been a lot of them. I guess we’ll see if <em>The Golden Bachelorette</em> season 2 will have a villain angle.</p>
