After tackling the stories of Jeffrey Dahmer and Lyle and Erik Menendez, Ryan Murphy’s anthology series Monster returns with a look at infamous Wisconsin killer Ed Gein. Gein’s disturbing crimes (which included murder and grave robbing) served as the inspiration for Psycho, The Silence of the Lambs, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Charlie Hunnam plays Gein in the new show and says that he wanted to create an authentic portrait of the man.

“I wanted to get as close as possible to who Ed was, to do him justice, and for this thing to feel authentic,” Hunnam told <a href=”https://www.netflix.com/tudum/articles/monster-the-ed-gein-story-release-date-cast-news#:~:text=Jeffrey%20Dahmer.,rather%20than%20what%20he%20did.%E2%80%9D” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Tudum. “This is going to be the really human, tender, unflinching, no-holds-barred exploration of who Ed was and what he did. But who he was being at the center of it, rather than what he did.”

Monster: The Ed Gein Story premieres Friday, October 3.

The inspired-by-a-true-story dramedy Boots is an offbeat coming of age tale that follows Cameron Cope (Miles Heizer), a closeted young man who joins the U.S. Marine Corps. Set in the 1990s, when being a gay servicemember was still illegal, it follows Cameron and his best friend Ray McAffey (Liam Oh) as they join a diverse group of recruits at boot camp.

Get ready for more high-stakes political intrigue in season of The Diplomat, as Ambassador Kate Wyler (Keri Russell) faces an uncertain future. The president is dead, which means that VP Grace Penn (Allison Janney) is now the leader of the free world. The shift in power opens up the possibility that Kate could be named vice president, which is exactly what her husband Hal (Rufus Sewell) wants. As Kate steps into a role she never wanted, she develops an increasingly complicated friendship with Foreign Secretary Austin Dennison (David Gyasi) and an unnerving bond with First Gentleman Todd Penn (Bradley Whitford).
