There’s no denying the fact that Molly Ringwald became a teen icon in the 1980s thanks to her appearance in movies like “The Breakfast Club,” “Pretty in Pink” and “Sixteen Candles.” You might also recognize her from her more recent role as Archie Andrews’ mom on “Riverdale.” Now, the 57-year-old star has made a public appearance while looking absolutely beautiful.
Showing up for The Gotham Awards at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City on Monday, December 1, Ringwald “looked gorgeous in a black slip base topped with a sheer, floral-embroidered mesh overlay,” according to Parade.
Beyond that, they noted that “[t]o complete the look, Ringwald wore a brown stole and carried a bedazzled gold handbag.” Finally, “[h]er signature red hair was worn in a pretty updo.”
The Star’s Fans Loved Her Look
When Ringwald took to Instagram to share glimpses of her night with her social media followers, they made it clear that they loved what they were seeing.
“Stunning as always ð,” one person wrote.
Another person added, “You look beautiful as always Molly!”
“Still got it! ð¦,” a third fan wrote.
Someone else took to the comments to write, “Molly, you are timeless. So elegant, classy, and beautiful!”

Molly Has Been Interested in Beauty Since She Was Young
Ringwald may look lovely these days, but that’s nothing new. She’s seemingly always been stunning and has, in fact, been interested in beauty since she was young.
In February 2024, Town & Country asked the star, “When did your interest in beauty begin?”
“Iâve been interested in products from the time I was very young,” she said. “Iâve just always liked trying new things and experimenting. My mom wasnât really into beauty stuff, so I donât know exactly where I got that from.”
“But oh, the amount of makeup that I used to wear as a teenager! I mean, so much and so much foundation,” she continued. “I really didn’t like my freckles, and I was having teen skin issues.”
She then added, “I would take blush and extend it up onto my temples and my mom would say, âMolly is putting pink splotches all over her face!â to my dad, who was blind. Iâm like, âWhat did he have in his mind?ââ
