Fonda Shows Off Her Fit Frame

A few weeks earlier, the reclusive former actress, 61, stepped out in a casual yet polished look. She wore a loose black ensemble, layered with an olive-green shirt, white sneakers, and her signature gray-streaked bun.
She carried a black crossbody bag and a bright yellow tote as she walked beside a friend, appearing relaxed and at ease.
With her hair pulled back and little to no makeup, the âJackie Brownâ star carried an effortless elegance. Her noticeably slimmer frame quickly reignited conversation among fans, who continue to marvel at her quiet transformation.
Bridget appeared relaxed and happy as she continued her health journey. Functional nutritionist Monica Partier told the Daily Mail, âIt appears that she has shed at least 75 pounds in the past few years, which is not an easy thing to do over the age of 50.â
Fonda Reflects on Insecurity & Stepping Away from Hollywood
Bridget has spoken candidly about insecurities that followed her throughout her acting career, long before she retired in 2003.
âWhat is it with my low self-esteem?â she asked in a 2000 interview, later admitting, âIâm trying to be happy with my career. I think I should give myself a break, but Iâve got this bug that rides me. âYou should be doing better.â Every time I work, Iâm frustrated with my physical inability to catch up to my mental picture.â
She shared that leaving the industry helped her find self-acceptance. âI used to think âGod, Iâm such a goof,ââ she told MovieMaker in 2023.
âNow I can have a good chuckle at my own expense. Self-flagellation is interesting for about a second.â
A Career Cut Short After a Tragic Car Accident
Bridgetâs Hollywood career came to an abrupt halt following a dangerous car crash in 2003. Her vehicle rolled down an embankment, leaving it destroyed.
The BBC reported she suffered âa minor fracture of two thoracic vertebrae,â though she was expected to make a full recovery.
Before stepping away, she built an impressive résumé across the late â80s, â90s, and early 2000s. Her notable films include âScandal,â âSingle White Female,â âPoint of No Return,â âJackie Brown,â âA Simple Planâ and âNo Ordinary Baby.â Her final screen role was in the 2002 film âSnow Queen.â
In 2005, Bridget and her husband, celebrated composer Danny Elfman, welcomed their son, Oliver. The actress chose to prioritize family life following her recovery.
Proud of Her Hollywood Legacy and Famous Family
Bridget comes from one of Hollywoodâs most influential acting families. She is the daughter of Peter Fonda, the niece of Jane Fonda, and the granddaughter of screen legend Henry Fonda.
In a 2000 interview with The Guardian, she addressed questions about nepotism. âThe nice thing is that I respect them. I never felt that I had to deny their existence or be embarrassed by association,â she said. She also dismissed rumors of tension with Jane, sharing that the two have always shared a close bond.
