Aaron Rodgers Estranged Parents Sell Their Home Before He Can Unload His

<a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/AARON-RODGERS/?swcfpc=1″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Aaron Rodgers made headlines after he announced the decision his fans have been waiting for. Following the Pittsburgh Steelers playoff loss to the Houston Texans in the Wildcard Round, one of the biggest questions was about whether the four-time MVP was going to walk away from the game or come back and play another year.

Well, on May 20, we got our answer when the star quarterback announced that he would retire after the upcoming <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/nfl/?swcfpc=1″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>NFL season, officially setting the finish line for one of the league’s most decorated careers. A-Rod signed a one-year contract to remain in Pittsburgh, where he will reunite with his former head coach, Mike McCarthy. The two were in Green Bay together for several years and won Super Bowl XLV when <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/these-celebrities-are-huge-green-bay-packers-fans-and-1-even-has-a-tattoo-to-prove-it.html/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>the Packers defeated, ironically, the Pittsburgh Steelers.

One day before the signal caller’s big announcement, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/aaron-rodgers-family-questions-quarterback-really-got-married.html/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>his estranged parents made some news of their own. Ed and Darla Rodgers scored a major real estate win when they sold their longtime home for $1.68 million just a few weeks after listing the property. The pair turned a huge profit as they only paid $306,000 for the house back in 2007.

The Victorian home, located in Aaron’s hometown of Chico, California, has 5,300 square feet of living space and sits on about three acres of land.

According to the listing, “[It] is a home that truly has it all–timeless finishes, thoughtful spaces, and beautiful indoor and outdoor living areas. It’s the kind of home where life is meant to be lived.”

Some of its amenities include a “custom theater room,” a smart system, a one-bedroom apartment, a three-car garage, and a hot tub.”

The sale comes while Aaron is still trying to unload his property in Oneida, Wisconsin, where he lived when he was playing for the Packers. It served as his primary residence until he was traded to the Jets– where he spent just two seasons, before signing with the Steelers.

The property at 1250 Thayer Trail sits on more than five acres of land. It boasts 10,529 square feet of living space and has four bedrooms and seven bathrooms. The home has several amenities, including an elevator, a butler’s pantry, large walk-in closets, a movie theater, a wet bar, a dedicated wine room, and a billiards room. And that’s just the inside. Outside, you’ll find a basketball court, a tennis and pickleball court, a greenhouse, and a fire pit.

Aaron paid for $1.73 million for the house in 2015 and listed it in November 2025 for $3.7 million.

When he signed with the Steelers, the quarterback snatched up a stunning equestrian mansion in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. The whopping 110-acre estate reportedly features 20,000 square feet of living space with 11 bathrooms. Some of its amenities include stables and riding areas for horse lovers, a six-car garage, a home theater, a chef’s kitchen, a game room, a wine cellar, a swimming pool complex with a large patio for entertaining, and a private par-3 golf course.
