ABC’s upcoming “9-1-1: Nashville” is bringing major star power to Music City with a special guest appearance from country music sensation Kane Brown in the series premiere, adding authentic Nashville flavor to the highly anticipated spinoff.

The new installment of Ryan Murphy’s first responder franchise will debut on Thursday, October 9 at 9 p.m. ET, featuring Brown in what promises to be a dramatic storyline that showcases both his musical talents and acting abilities in the Tennessee-set drama.

Kane Brown Takes Center Stage in Major ‘9-1-1’ Storyline

According to Variety, Brown will appear as himself and “proves heroic in a major storyline” during the premiere episode. The country star was spotted filming a live concert scene in Nashville, bringing an authentic music industry element to the show’s debut.

This marks Brown’s continued expansion into television acting, following his previous appearance on CBS’s “Fire Country” in 2023. The multi-talented artist has also served as host of the CMT Awards three times.

Brown first broke onto the music scene in 2016 with his self-titled debut album, making history as the first artist to simultaneously lead all five of Billboard’s main country charts. His latest studio album, “The High Road,” includes the hit collaboration “Miles On It” with Marshmello, which enjoyed a milestone 50-week run at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart.

Brown’s appearance fits with the show’s Nashville setting and the franchise’s focus on authenticity. Executive producer Tim Minear explained the reasoning behind choosing Nashville as the location, telling TV Line: “I think that it’s a really interesting city with its own personality. It also has the country music industry, and it just felt like it could be a fun place to set a piece of the franchise.”

Star-Studded Cast Brings Emergency Drama to Music City

The series features Chris O’Donnell in the lead role as Captain Don Sharpe, described as “a rugged fire captain and rodeo rider who runs Nashville’s busiest firehouse with his beloved son,” according to Us Weekly. Jessica Capshaw joins as his wife, Blythe, bringing her “Grey’s Anatomy” experience to the emergency drama format.

The cast also includes country singer LeAnn Rimes making her series-regular TV debut as Dixie Bennings, alongside Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Hailey Kilgore, Michael Provost, Juani Feliz, and Hunter McVey in various first responder roles.

Music will play a significant role in the series, with Minear confirming that it will “absolutely” factor into the show’s storylines. Given Nashville’s reputation as “Music City,” the integration of musical elements promises to differentiate this spinoff from its Los Angeles and Texas predecessors.

The series premiere will air between the Season 9 premiere of the original “9-1-1” and the Season 22 premiere of “Grey’s Anatomy,” giving ABC a powerful Thursday night lineup. The show will also be available for streaming on Hulu the day after its broadcast premiere.

The 9-1-1: Nashville premiere represents the continued growth of Murphy’s successful emergency responder franchise, following the conclusion of “9-1-1: Lone Star’s” five-season run on Fox.
