Adam Peaty’s mum has shared an emotional post seemingly touching on her family’s explosive feud ahead of the New Year.
Olympian champ Peaty tied the knot with Gordon Ramsay’s daughter Holly at Bath Abbey over the Christmas period, following a tumultuous period that saw his family members uninvited from the big day.
His mum Caroline was among those who did not attend the star-studded ceremony, alongside her husband Mark, who she claimed was invited to the service but not the reception.
She backtracked on reported plans to ‘crash’ the Bath wedding and instead shared her plans to try and ‘distract’ herself while her son exchanged his vows, spending the day with her mother Mavis and husband.
Caroline has now shared a post describing 2025 as an incredibly difficult year, saying that she prays her ‘heart never has to break like this again’.
Her Instagram story re-post read: ‘I won’t end this year pretending everything was fine. I lost a piece of myself this year that I will never get back, and I’m not forcing a smile like it didn’t change me.
‘So no…I won’t be saying ‘2026 is going to be my year.’ I’ll be praying that I recover next year, that my heart never has to break like this again, that I never have to survive something like this again.
‘I’ll be praying for peace…. real peace, the kind that lets me breathe without fighting for it. I deserve a year that doesn’t hurt.’
The family drama was made public last month, when Ramsay celebrated her hen do at Soho Farmhouse – with her future mother-in-law absent from the celebrations that saw Ramsay’s own mother and Victoria Beckham in attendance.
It was then reported that Peaty’s brother James had been arrested over allegations he sent threats to the Olympian during his stag-do in Budapest.
The athlete then went on to release a statement, addressing the ‘challenging times’ and asking the members of the public to be aware that there are ‘two sides to every story’.
Caroline tearfully told the Daily Mail on the day of her son’s wedding: ‘Me going would just cause even more of a storm and I don’t want to ruin his wedding day. I wanted to be there quietly to watch him get married, but that can’t happen now.’
She added: ‘I don’t think they understand how much they have hurt me; it’s as if they have cut my heart out.
‘This is the first Christmas that I’ve not had my family together – my family is broken.’
Adam is said to view his mum Caroline as a ‘negative influence’ and someone he does not want to spend time with, which is a perspective she does not understand.
‘I’m not a negative person, I see the positive in everything, otherwise I would hide under the blankets and never come out,’ she said.
