Taking Gareth Gates’ virginity while pregnant, a bizarre feud with Love Island’s Chris Hughes, and, of course, countless tumultuous relationships.

Katie Price’s most notable bonkers showbiz stunts pale in comparison to what’s happening now.

As someone who has interviewed and written about Katie, 47, for years, I wasn’t surprised to find out she had married businessman Lee Andrews in a quickie wedding just days after they met earlier this year. After all, she’s a well-documented hopeless romantic having been married four times now.

Since then, we’ve been subjected to nauseating AI-generated declarations of love, matching tattoos, and promises from both parties that their marriage is the real deal, despite Lee’s dodgy CV and claims of being a billionaire.

And despite Katie declaring that it’s ‘too soon’ to introduce her new man to her children, Lee took that as an invitation to have her son Harvey’s name tattooed on him.

But the latest twist in their utterly bizarre relationship, which has had the likes of comedian Katherine Ryan and other celebs hooked, has seen her new husband officially declared missing.

Little did I know when watching Katie’s worrying solo appearance on Good Morning Britain last week and rolling my eyes after Lee failed to catch his flight from Dubai that it would turn into a missing person’s case, with the TV star now claiming she last spoke to her husband five days ago while he was ‘detained in a van with his hands tied’.

The details, of course, sound terrifying. But Lee (if that is his real name) has been lying to Katie since they first met. It’s easy to forget that she is the pawn in all of this.

Where Lee is currently remains unclear, but what is evident is that there is finally hope that their comically short-lived marriage could unravel. And I’m glad.

Of course, Katie doesn’t deserve much sympathy. It’s not like she hasn’t had any warnings about Lee – all of which she’s turned a blind eye to.

His former partners have spoken out to accuse him of everything from being a conman, liar, and narcissist, to allegedly forging his ex-girlfriend’s signature to take out a £200,000 loan, all of which he’s denied.

Alana Percival, who was previously in a relationship with the self-proclaimed doctor, has also urged Katie to ‘run for the hills’ after revealing he proposed to her in an identical manner just months prior.

Sadly, Katie has always been unlucky in love. She once said, ‘men have ruined my life and destroyed me’ and that she ‘just wants to be loved’.

Yes, she’s not always been perfect in relationships, but it’s unsettling to see her being publicly humiliated in yet another car crash relationship, nodding along to Lee’s blatant lies on live TV like the Churchill dog.

You can agree that Katie will do just about anything for publicity, but also feel worried for her. The ghosting at the hands of her own husband is another dimension of public humiliation, even for her.

Of course, she has made an entire career out of outrageous stunts, which have kept her name splashed across newspapers for more than 30 years, and it still remains to be seen if this marriage is just her most elaborate one yet.

One viral clip from an appearance on This Morning saw her tell Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby in 2019: ‘I was held at gunpoint with Junior and Princess in South Africa, my mum was told she’s dying, my German shepherd got killed on my driveway, my horse got killed outside my house on the dual carriageway, Harvey had a kidnap threat, then I caught my husband cheating again.’

It’s enough drama to make your head spin, and she revels in it. But there’s something about Katie’s troubling marriage to Lee which feels like it could be from a scene in Netflix’s Tinder Swindler.

It would mean another failed marriage under Katie’s belt, but I’m desperate for this relationship to be over.
