Alan Carr has spoken about how murdering his bestie Paloma Faith on Celebrity Traitors has affected their friendship – and not for the better.
The comedian and impressive Traitor, 49, admitted the singer, 44, was far from happy that he chose her to be the first to go on the BBC show.
Alan and his Traitor chums Jonathan Ross and Cat Burns were tasked with murdering a Faithful in plain sight, by touching their face, and Alan was nominated to take on the task.
Despite some jitters, Alan got the job done and the Only Love Can Hurt Like This hitmaker was sent packing. Since then, Alan has taken to the job of being a Traitor like a duck to water.
But going less smoothly since then is his friendship with Paloma, the Chatty Man shared on his Life’s A Beach podcast with DJ Norman Cook, aka Fatboy Slim.
He said: ‘I’m killing people willy nilly – I’ve got a real taste for it. I killed Paloma Faith. She’s not happy about it.’
When Norman asked, ‘Aren’t you mates with Paloma?’ Alan replied, ‘Well, I was…’
He went on to explain how Paloma had been hurt by the murderous move: ‘She said, “If you were a real friend, you wouldn’t have killed me.” But I said, “I’m the Traitor! The show’s called The Traitors – it does what it says on the tin.”
‘There’ve been a few little TikToky things where she says I’ve let her down because I killed her in plain sight.’
He added: ‘It’s like going on Naked Attraction and being told, what, I have to take my knickers off? You know what you’re signing up for!’
Explaining his decision to get the poisonous lily pollen on Paloma’s face over anyone else, he added: ‘I can’t start stroking Stephen Fry’s face and Celia Imrie’s – not at my age! I look creepy as it is.’
Explaining he’s deadset on making amends, Alan added: ‘I’m going to take her for dinner. I love her. I’m such a big fan of her and she’s the best – but no one wants to be murdered first on a show. I panicked.’
Celebrity Traitors returns tonight at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
