Alaskan Bush People star Matt Brown has been found dead in a river in Washington, US, after a search had been launched for him.

Brown’s brother Bear shared the news of the reality star’s death in a TikTok video on Saturday.

He revealed that his brother’s body had been found in a river in northern Washington state ‘a few hours ago.’

Bear suggested that Brown died by suicide and spoke of a wound on his body that appeared ‘self-inflicted’.

‘I would’ve never expected he would hurt himself, honestly,’ Bear told his followers of his brother Brown, who had substance abuse issues prior to his death.

‘He struggled for a long time with addiction and I was so worried for a long time that he was going to OD. I didn’t think that he would hurt himself.’

Bear went on to ask that social media users ‘respect [their] family’ and ‘watch the comments’ they leave on about Brown.

‘Sometimes words can hurt more than fists can,’ said Bear, who also said that one of Brown’s last social media posts was about the ‘negativity’ he had received online.

The news of Brown’s death comes just two days after his brother tearfully revealed on Thursday that multiple witnesses had seen him in a river in Okanogan County.

The Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office confirmed it was investigating a report of an unidentified man swept away in the river on Wednesday.

Brown appeared in almost 80 episodes of the reality show Alaskan Bush People, between 2014 and 2018.

The Discovery Channel documentary series followed the Brown family as they attempted to live out in the wilderness away from modern society.
