Strictly Come Dancing contestant Amber Davies has issued a message for fans after some expressed hope for the dreaded ‘Strictly curse’.

The ex-Love Islander and West End performer joined the cast of the BBC competition last minute, replacing Dani Dyer as Nikita Kuzmin’s partner following a devastating ankle injury.

In a recent social media post, Kuzmin’s girlfriend, Lauren Jaine, expressed her distaste at comments she’d seen on TikTok wishing for the ‘Strictly curse’ to affect competing couples.

The Ukrainian model’s caption for the video read: ‘Please be respectful to the real-life partners and let them have a good experience of the show too’.

Helping dispel any rumours that she will fall victim to the trend, Davies said to The Sun: ‘I’ve met Nikita’s girlfriend. I love her, she’s so supportive, so easy-going.

Jade Davies, Amber’s sister, is also a performer, currently touring with Les Miserablés, according to her Instagram bio.

The former Love Island winner also shared a comment underneath Jaine’s TikTok, in which she wrote: ‘Genuinely so happy I got paired with Nikita because I met YOU.’

Jaine replied: ‘EXACTLYY,’ demonstrating the friendship that’s formed between them.

Comments under the video made reference to other couples in Strictly. @yourfavbeatlesfan wrote: ‘People keep saying George and Alexis, I’m like THEY’RE BOTH IN RELATIONSHIPS’.
