Ariana Grande appeared to squash split rumours with boyfriend Ethan Slater in a new social media post.
The actors met while filming the musical epic Wicked, going public with their relationship in 2023.
However, with the release of the sequel, Wicked: For Good, rumours have swirled that the couple have called it a day.
The singer, 32, who largely keeps their relationship away from social media, shared a video of Slater, 33, talking about his Wicked character Boq’s transformation into the Tin Man.
‘It was less that it was daunting to take on this role that everybody has a relationship to and more that I just kind of couldn’t believe that I got to do it,’ he said.
‘It’s a hard arc to play because it’s so familiar. Boq is trying to find his way.
‘He’s never forgotten those friends that have all left him, except for Nessa, who has sort of trapped him there. But unfortunately, the world that he knows has fallen to the ground.’
He went on to explain how he spoke to director Jon M. Chu about ‘what it looks like for a broken heart to turn into rage’ and how ‘dangerous’ that can be when you focus on what you have lost.
‘Everything about him has changed, and he has to learn how to deal with that. He’s in a body that doesn’t feel like his anymore, and there’s few gifts as great to an actor as physically feeling the thing that your character is going through.’
While the video isn’t about their relationship, fans have interpreted the move as Grande throwing her support behind her beau and his career.
Space between the couple during the promotional tour for Wicked: For Good led to many fans questioning whether they had parted ways.
However, they appeared close at the premiere of the Golden Globe-nominated film, standing close together while Slater gazed at Grande adoringly.
The duo first met on the set of the Oscar-winning Wicked movie in 2022 while Ethan was still in a relationship. Ariana was not long separated from her real estate realtor ex-husband Dalton Gomez, who she married in 2021, with their divorce finalised in 2024.
Ethan was with his ex-wife, Clinical psychologist, Lilly Jay, with whom he shares a three-year-old child. The couple were high school sweethearts who married in 2018 and divorced in 2023.
Soon after their relationship was made public in 2023, Lilly issued a scathing statement that ripped into Ariana following the breakdown of her marriage.
Last month, A source has now told People that the couple is better than ever and ‘making it work.’
‘They both have a lot going on, but their relationship is the real deal,’ the source said. ‘They’re incredibly supportive of each other’s careers and so excited for everyone to see their new film.’
