Ashley Judd marked All Saints Day by honoring a loved one who passed this year. In a video shared to Instagram on Sunday, November 2, she explained, “I am celebrating All Saintsâ Day today for my beloved Uncle Mark. Mark Christopher Judd, born June 28, 1950, whom we buried on the 20th of January this year, in 2025, surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses.”
“Uncle Mark was my safe person from the time I was a child,” she said. “He was only 18 when I was born, and we used to play in the dirt together with Nanaâs spoons. And the last time Uncle Mark, Aunt Middy and I got together in person, it was the 19th of December. They always came down and I had a chocolate pie, Nanaâs recipe.”
Saying that she used to go for walks with her uncle and would hold his hand as they talked, she recalled a conversation they had not long before he passed. She asked him, “Uncle Mark, is there a child still inside of you?”
His reply: “Oh, yes. And we go back to school every September.”
Ashley Wanted to Remember Her Uncle Mark
In the caption of Ashley’s Instagram post that she dedicated to her Uncle Mark, she wrote, “In the rhythm of the year, I paused this weekend to reminisce, remember, love, and appreciate my loved ones who passed through the thin place to the other side.”
“This year, in particular, I remember my precious and beloved Uncle Mark,” she continued.
She also added, “Thanks for visiting with me as I share my memories, and Iâd love to hear about who youâre remembering and loving this All Saints and All Souls weekend. Who is your Uncle Mark?”
