Ubisoft has confirmed a number of titles launching next spring, including an unannounced game which is one of its worst kept secrets.

A remake of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag hasn’t been officially announced by Ubisoft, but it has been rumoured for so long and so often, practically everyone knows of its existence already.

Following the launch of Assassin’s Creed Shadows earlier this year, Ubisoft has been pretty quiet in regards to the future of the franchise – probably because it’s been navigating a financially sticky situation with its new subsidiary jointly owned by Tencent.

We already know about some other Assassin’s Creed games in development, including a multiplayer spin-off codenamed Invictus and the witch-themed Hexe, but a new report claims Ubisoft is set to launch the rumoured Black Flag remake before April next year.

This all stems from Ubisoft’s latest financial report, which was briefly delayed – not because of an acquisition – but due to an accounting error. In the report, Ubisoft outlines its slate for the fourth quarter (before March 31, 2026) as: ‘Prince Of The Persia: The Sands Of Time remake, Rainbow Six Mobile, The Division Resurgence, and an unannounced title’.

According to sources at Insider Gaming, this unannounced title, to the surprise of no one, is the remake of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. More specifically, the outlet claims the remake will launch on the week starting March 23, 2026.

The other big takeaway is a concrete release window for the Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time remake, which has been in development hell for some time. Originally announced in September 2020, it was expected to launch the following year, but after blowback against the trailer, the project was delayed and handed off to Ubisoft Montreal.

It’s been scheduled for 2026 since, but an exact release date is unknown. If the Black Flag remake is coming out in March though, it’s likely Prince Of Persia will arrive earlier. Coincidentally, Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown launched on January 18 last year, but that game failed to meet sales expectations, so maybe Ubisoft has learnt something since then.

We haven’t seen anything from the Prince Of Persia remake for years, so it’s likely it could turn up at The Game Awards on December 11, 2025 – possibly alongside the Black Flag remake.

If the Black Flag remake is launching on the week of March 23 though, it will have some strong competition. Housemarque’s Returnal successor, Saros, is set to arrive just before on March 20, while 007 First Light arrives shortly afterwards on March 27, 2026.

The opening months of the year have gradually become one of the busiest windows on the gaming release calendar, but with GTA 6 now no longer an immediate concern, after being delayed to November, it’s possible we could see some titles pushed back, not because they’re not finished but just to claim a more advantageous release date.
