EA has set Battlefield 6 players an explosive challenge in the open beta, depending on exactly how much property damage they cause.

Battlefield 6’s second open beta officially went live on Thursday, adding an additional map called Empire State and two new modes in Rush and Squad Deathmatch.

The beta is set to run until Sunday, August 18 at 9am BST, and developer EA has leaned into the franchise’s appetite for destruction via a new challenge for players.

If players around the world manage to collectively cause $1 trillion worth of damage in the Battlefield 6 beta, everyone who participated will receive a Destruction weapon skin for the M60 machine gun when the full game launches on October 10, 2025.

At the time of writing, the total amount of financial damage is just over $100 billion, a figure carried over from the first beta, so players have a lot to demolish over the next two days if they want to claim their prize.

If you want to see how much you’ve individually contributed to the desecration of virtual architecture, EA has a way so players can see their specific ‘destruction receipt’ too.

How to redeem your destruction receipt in Battlefield 6

In order to access the results of your destruction, you first have to take part in some obligatory social engagement. You can find a breakdown of the steps below.

  1. Blow up stuff in the Battlefield 6 beta.
  2. Post a gameplay video of your destruction on X or Instagram with #BF6Receipts and @battlefield mentioned in the post.
  3. Within 24 hours, your receipt will be added to the online leaderboard here, where you can search for your username and find your total.

So what’s the best way to cause the most destruction? While you can rack up damage by hopping in vehicles and unloading at buildings, character class wise you’re best to pick the Engineer, who comes with a rocket launcher and mines as side weapons.

If you fancy seeing your player stats from the first open beta, you can check out those by entering your EA ID here.

While the jury is out on whether Battlefield 6 will threaten Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7, the latter’s release date is a whole month later according to a recent leak.
