Just days after the dramatic conclusion to the Celebrity Traitors, the BBC has already confirmed the series will return for season 2 in the near future.
The reality show has been a resounding success since its first episode in 2022, and the celebrity version is already the biggest unscripted TV show in iPlayer history.
Episode one of The Celebrity Traitors received a whopping 14.8million views from the British public, with the intense finale reaching a massive peak of 12m.
On iPlayer alone, 1.9m people tuned in live as Alan Carr played the Traitor game incredibly well and secured £87,500 for the charity Neuroblastoma UK.
The BBC has responded to those impressive figures by commissioning the Celebrity Traitors for another series, which will be back in 2026, an announcement that everyone was hoping for.
No specific release date has been confirmed just yet, but with a civilian version of The Traitors ready to return for a fourth season, fans won’t be waiting impatiently.

That brand new teaser trailer was dropped on Friday morning, the morning after Alan Carr’s win, featuring all the gothic camp that Traitors fans could ask for.
Hooded and cloaked, a mysterious figure walks through a courtyard as a dramatic rendition of Blondie’s Heart of Glass plays in the soundtrack.
As the teaser comes to an end, the cloaked figure walks off camera, with a graphic revealing that the fourth season of The Traitors is ‘coming 2026’.
A source also told The Sun last week: ‘This year, series three started on January 1, and it was a centrepiece of New Year’s Day evening telly.
‘So it’s likely it will be back then in 2026 too, as it’s a huge tentpole show for the Beeb to kick off the New Year with.’
When will Celebrity Traitors series 2 start?
The BBC has confirmed that The Celebrity Traitors will return in 2026, but a more specific premiere date for the next season is yet to be revealed.
With nothing filmed yet, and with the fourth season of the main Traitors series still to come, season two is likely to begin around the same time of year as season one.
The first episode of The Celebrity Traitor was broadcast on Wednesday, October 8, with the second episode coming out the following night on Thursday, October 9.
Season one of regular Traitors show began on November 29, 2022, with the second season premiering on January 3, 2024, setting the template for the future.
Season three began on New Year’s Day 2025, and fans are hoping that will be the case for season four when it arrives, with viewers praying that the BBC competition dominates New Year’s Day viewing in 2026.
