This Country fans have been waiting five years for a reunion and they finally got it.

Kerry and Kurtan Mucklowe unexpectedly popped up for a very brief cameo in the BBC comedy thriller Am I Being Unreasonable? – we haven’t seen a crossover this epic since That’s So Suite Life of Hannah Montana.

Both This County and Am I Being Unreasonable? are co-written and co-created by Daisy May Cooper, who also stars in the two shows so joining the worlds felt organic.

In This Country, she plays the directionless but harmless Kerry, and over on Am I Being Unreasonable? she is Nic, a murderous mum trapped in a toxic marriage. Charlie Cooper (also co-writer and co-creator of This Country), who plays Kurtan is Daisy’s brother so we imagine she was able to easily get him involved in her new project. The siblings regularly support each other.

Daisy got her Lindsay Lohan circa Parent Trap on as she plays both characters in the same scene.

Those wondering if Kerry and Kurtan ever matured got their answers. The sixty second appearance saw Kerry and Kurtan stealing boxes of tissues from a convenience store, while Nic purchased a bottle of vodka.

When the workers realise what Kerry and Kurtan are doing they avoid consequences by running down the street.

‘Kids eh,’ Nic says while looking at the twosome. ‘The sad thing is they’re both in their late thirties,’ she is informed.

We only ever see the back of Kerry’s head so there’s a possibility that it was a stunt double, or perhaps, BBC have pushed their budget on special effects and it was Daisy. Either way, Daisy’s voice as Kerry was unmistakable.

Seeing what Kerry and Kurtan are up to in 2025 was a special gift for fans, and they certainly appreciated it.

‘The cross over of This Country on Am I being unreasonable is INCREDIBLE,’ wrote Emily on X. Bekie Trainer said that the moment needed ‘a shout out’ before adding a laughing face of approval.

‘CHARLIE COOPER IN #AmIBeingUnreasonable YES LMAOOO,’ typed the excited person behind account dxctr_master.

Charlie, 35, also stars in the series as Jürgen, a fortune teller that Nic visits as her life is in turmoil. Older sister Daisy, 38, recently joked on The One Show that she gave Charlie the job because he needed the money.

For those looking for further information as to what the Mucklowe cousins are doing these days, Charlie, who co-wrote This Country told Metro that he thinks Kurtan is now a ‘brilliant’ stay at home dad. He added that Kurtan would be a regular at local baby classes, while Kerry is a ‘Godfather’ who takes the role too seriously.

When asked if viewers could get a fourth series of Bafta-winning This Country, which ran from 2017 to 2020, Charlie said it was ‘inevitable’.

‘When me and Daisy meet up, we rarely don’t talk about something This Country-related. It’s such a big part of us,’ he shared. That doesn’t mean there aren’t barriers to overcome, including busy family lives. Charlie has two children with his wife Leighanne, and Daisy has Pip, five, and three-year-old son Jack with her ex-husband Will Weston. She also welcomed Benji in June with her boyfriend Anthony Huggins.

‘We’ve completely got our hands full, so it’s just finding the right time when we’re both sort of free,’ he explained.

However, Charlie quickly admitted that while juggling commitments plays a part in the decision, it is his own reservations that are mainly holding him back: ‘The pressure would be so big. My fear is people saying “They should have left it alone.” Unless we’ve got paid s**t loads, is it worth the pressure?’ Yes!

Series two of Am I Being Unreasonable? finished with another cliffhanger. Nic’s son Ollie, played brilliantly by Lenny Rush, just discovered information about his uncle’s death from a video secretly recorded by his mum’s friend Jen (Selin Hizili). Surely more episodes are going to happen with so many stories still ongoing? Fingers crossed!

All episodes of Am I Being Unreasonable? are available on BBC iPlayer.
