New details have reportedly emerged about the BBC’s investigation into Strictly Come Dancing star Wynne Evans.
The broadcaster commissioned a review into the 53-year-old’s conduct after he was embroiled in a series of scandals.
Last year, the opera singer was forced to leave the Strictly live tour after he was caught making an ‘inappropriate comment about Janette Manrara.
More recently, Evans was allegedly reprimanded by the BBC after footage emerged of him and co-star Jamie Borthwick playing with a sex toy.
It is now conducting a ‘wide-ranging’ investigation that ‘goes beyond his time on Strictly,’ according to the Mail Online.

The source claimed the inquiry, which is being carried out in secret, is a ‘wider BBC matter’ rather than just relating to the ballroom show.

It has also been alleged that former Strictly contestant Sam Quek, 36, ‘raised the alarm’ to producers over a comment made by Evans.
Evans’ lawyer told the Mail Online that he has no recollection of the comment and that ‘nobody has presented any evidence to him that he did.’
The BBC declined to comment when approached by the Metro. Reps for Evans and Quek have also been contacted.
Earlier this month, the former GoCompare star and Borthwick were caught playing with a sex toy while backstage on the Strictly live tour in a video reportedly shared in the Strictly 2024 celebrities’ WhatsApp group.
It was allegedly filmed just two days after Evans was caught using the term ‘spit roast’ towards presenter Janette Manrara as she moved between him and Borthwick.
While Evans apologised for the remark, and Manrara made no official complaint, he later left the tour, with his lawyers previously saying that he was not axed but left due to health reasons.
It has since been claimed that Evans did not make the inappropriate sexual comment, and that he instead was talking to EastEnders actor Borthwick.
According to The Sun, Evans has submitted ‘a dossier of evidence’ to the BBC, which friends believe will clear him of the crude behaviour claims and will ‘change everything’.
They insist that Evans said ‘old spitroast boy’ to Borthwick as a reference to him ‘putting his legs above his head and looking like a spitroast chicken’.
Evans allegedly expects BBC bosses to make a final decision about the future of his BBC Radio Wales show by the end of the month.
A source told the publication: ‘Wynne is not feeling confident and has confided in friends he thinks he will be dropped.
However, that same insider has claimed that Evans has no intention of going quietly and will ‘tell all’ if he is fired.
‘It’s all a waiting game now and it has been awful,’ they explained. ‘Wynne says he plans to tell all immediately if he is let go.
‘He wants to talk about how he feels he was thrown under the bus by Strictly chiefs and co-stars.’
‘He feels hung out to dry and is planning to come out guns blazing.’
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One and iPlayer later this year.
