It was the day our favourite Scary Spice Girl got her fairytale ending.
Mel B, full name Melanie Brown, tied the knot with her long-term partner, Rory McPhee, on a scorching August day in Marrakesh this year.
The pop legend shared photos on her social media from the special day, beaming in a stunning red and orange beaded dress alongside her husband.
The couple celebrated a second wedding ceremony in Morocco at the Selman Hotel, just a month after tying the knot at St Paul’s Cathedral in a London ceremony.
Héloïse Agelou managed the local coordination and production of the day alongside a wedding planner, Giuditta from Postcard Perfect Weddings, and Caroline Black from Evelie.
The photographs shared by Scary Spice revealed the stunning extravagance of the celebration, and now, Héloïse has revealed to Metro the sweet details of the service that made the celebration unique to the iconic singer.
‘She wasn’t a bridezilla at all. I think she’s the nicest bride I’ve ever had,’ Héloïse clarifies straight off the bat while on a Zoom chat from her Hello Moments & Co office in Marrakesh.
‘She’s really become a friend from this experience, because she’s the most understanding and grateful person I’ve met and worked with.’
While this might be something you’d expect many people who work with celebrities to say, Héloïse came armed with multiple examples of the popstar’s kindness, across the three-day event that saw her tie the knot on a custom-built platform built across a swimming pool.
‘My staff were building the stage on the water for her ceremony. So they were building it all night. And she went – at one o’clock or two o’clock in the morning – saying thank you to them for working on it, after her first event.
‘It’s not even about being a celebrity or not a celebrity, like it is such humbleness and authenticity to have any human go and thank everyone like that.’
We won’t be spilling any intimate details about Mel’s new husband, as we abide by her request to live a blissfully happy and private personal life.
And who can blame her? But all we know about the wedding of the year doesn’t need tell-all details on her soulmate to delight her fans.

From wearing a bejewelled red wedding dress to Rory slicing a bright red tiered cake with a sword (made by Terra Mia), the couple made sure to put their own mark on their celebration, which was snapped by Joshua Lawrence.
The events planner revealed that the pyrotechnics on the day caused her just a little bit of stress.
The couple kissed on their way down the aisle, with an explosion of colour taking place behind them. Héloïse revealed waiting for the colour pop may have been the longest few seconds of her life.
‘I was not breathing,’ she confessed.
She said, despite the fact they couldn’t practice the colour explosion, things thankfully went to plan, and they managed to get an incredible shot of the first colour pop wedding snap in Morocco.
Héloise revealed that Mel insisted that the bar staff were also included in the festivities.
‘During the evening, she asked all the bartenders to have a drink. She’s like, “only if you don’t drink, you’re all having a shot on me”,’ she recalled.
‘What’s funny is that everyone went above and beyond for her; it’s not about her being a celebrity, because people really don’t care about that here. Like, honestly, they don’t.
‘But they were very touched by the way she respected the culture, and was really grateful, and I thought that was really something very, very special.’
Héloise Agelou
Héloise Agelou is the founder of Hello Moments, a leading wedding planning organisation in Marrakesh that has been featured in various magazines, including Tatler and Vogue India.
She began her career as a professional jockey in the south of France and went on to organise charity events in London.
After a breakup, she decided to pursue her dreams and learn about real love. She has now been behind some of the most magical weddings in Marrakesh.
Héloise emphasises throughout the call that Mel is one of her favourite clients and is just as down-to-earth as Spice Girls fans have always known.
‘She has such consideration for people’s time and effort, it’s unbelievable. Yeah, like, this woman hasn’t forgotten whatsoever where she comes from, that’s very rare in anyone who succeeds.
‘Not just because they’re a pop star, whether it’s a trader or a hotel owner or whatever, it’s very rare to see someone working on their ego so much and really understand that people’s time is worth something.’
The love was mutual, with Mel telling Metro: ‘It was a joy to work with Héloïse.
‘It was a Girl Power wedding as everyone from Giuditta, the wedding planner, to Caroline Black, my wedding dress guru from Evelie, to the wonderful Héloïse!
‘Héloïse is a strong, powerful, incredible woman who made it all happen in Morocco, North Africa! Forever grateful to them all.’
I leave the call with Héloïse mentally planning my own future wedding (despite not having a ring on my finger) and feeling somewhat relieved that – as I’d always known deep down – there’s nothing scary about Mel B.
