Beloved Comedian, 57, Gets Emotional Sharing Recovery Update After Tumor Surgery: VIDEO

Pauly Shore Says He’s Grateful & Healing After Tumor Surgery

Comedian Pauly Shore is opening up about a health scare with a message of hope. On Wednesday, Aug. 27, the 57-year-old comedian revealed in an Instagram video that he recently underwent surgery to remove a tumor from his pancreas.

How a Preventive Scan Led to Shore’s Surgery

“About three months ago, I went in for a preventative scan in Las Vegas at SimonMed, where they scan your body from head to toe,” Shore shared. “They check for tumors, cancer, aneurysms, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, you name it. Being in my 50s, I thought it was the right thing to do.”

The scan revealed a tumor in his abdominal area, which doctors confirmed was benign. “It might’ve been there for 15 to 20 years,” he explained. While it wasn’t an immediate threat, Shore said his doctors felt removing it was the best choice for his long-term health.

On August 21, Shore underwent surgery at Cedars-Sinai with Dr. Nicholas Nissen. He praised the doctors, nurses, and staff for their care during his hospital stay.

Ahead of the procedure, Shore recorded himself from his hospital bed, calling the tumor “a devil that’s in me” that needed to be removed. Just five days later, he updated fans with relief, sharing that the surgery had been a success.

“It’s been tough. The aftermath of an abdomen surgery is pretty f—ing hard,” he admitted, wiping away tears. “It’s just wild. It’s been a lot.”

Staying Positive & Grateful

Despite the challenges, Shore emphasized gratitude for his health and the support around him. “Mentally, it really messed with me. Knowing there was a tumor inside me… Could it grow? Burst? Turn into something worse? You just don’t know,” he said.

The Encino Man actor explained he has always been proactive about his health — staying active, going to the gym, using saunas, massages, and keeping up with medical checkups — but this was the first time he underwent a full-body scan. “I had no symptoms. This was just me following my instincts,” he told fans.

Shore’s Message to Fans

Now recovering at home, Shore reassured fans that he’s on the mend. In the caption of his Instagram post, he wrote: “I’m all right, and I’m healing every day. I love you all, Pauly.”

His openness about the experience not only brought comfort to fans but also served as a reminder of the importance of preventative health checks.
