Texas meteorologist Diamond Dickson revealed that she has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of kidney cancer with a low chance of survival and “technically no cure.”
The KRIS-6 personality shared a video on social media on Saturday, April 4, detailing her diagnosis as well as explaining why she stepped away in December.

Along with her video, Dickson shared a long message with her fans.
“The past few months have been the hardest of my life,” Dickson said. “It feels surreal to say I have one of the deadliest kidney cancers but I serve a God that is beyond faithful.”
She went on to explain that she is receiving chemotherapy in an effort to “target my tumor in my left kidney and it has tested my body in unimaginable ways but I have no choice but to fight.”
“Next will be kidney removal surgery to make sure the cancer doesnât spread throughout my body,” Dickson continued. “I have to beat it. Most days Iâm completely depleted of energy but my faith keeps me going. I have a fighter spirit and I refuse to let this cancer take me out.”
She concluded her message by praising her support system and thanking everyone for their love during this hard time.

Under Dickson’s video, over 300 comments were left, all showing support for the popular weatherwoman.
