WWE fans were left reeling after Monday Night Raw ended on a huge bombshell with a top star seemingly written off TV.

Fan favourite wrestler LA Knight was all over last night’s episode of the hit Netflix show as he reignited his rivalry with The Vision, including a main event match against Logan Paul.

Earlier in the show, he saved masked legend Rey Mysterio from a two-on-one beatdown from Logan and the mysterious hooded attacker who first appeared at Survivor Series.

In the main event, the mystery assailant made his presence felt for a second time, costing the former United States Champion against the YouTuber-turned-wrestler.

Logan, Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker decimated Knight after the bell, and continued the attack backstage where Reed sent him crashing through a car with a Tsunami.

In footage shared by WWE after the show, he was seen on a stretcher being carried into an ambulance, suggesting he could be set to miss some time on screen.

Some fans have pointed out that both Ricochet and Braun Strowman were written off TV after being sent crashing through a car by Breakker and Reed respectively.

Although Ricochet’s attack was used to write him off WWE TV for good as his contract expired and he later joined rivals AEW, Strowman’s was part of a wider storyline.

Is LA Knight leaving WWE?

Metro’s WWE expert Alistair McGeorge weighs in on LA Knight’s immediate future.

Some fans on social media have, shockingly enough, overreacted a little to LA Knight being seemingly written off TV last night.

It’s easy to be negative around the Megastar’s rollercoaster career on the WWE main roster, going from a model agent mouthpiece to a former US Champion flirting with the top levels of Raw and SmackDown.

While Triple H and his creative team haven’t pulled the trigger on Knight’s enduring popularity with fans, he’s still been a prominent fixture towards the top of the card.

The decision to have him absent from WarGames only to continue his rivalry with The Vision is a baffling one, but I don’t think it’s time to lose hope.

He was all over Monday’s episode of Raw, only losing the main event against Logan Paul due to interference.

Yes, he ended the show losing and being attacked, but it was a group beatdown from a dominant faction, and it could actually be exactly what he needs.

A couple of months off screen and a strong Royal Rumble return would be the perfect way to give Knight a soft relaunch of sorts, perhaps leading to a feud with the mysterious hooded man.

There are plenty of rumours there, with Austin Theory, Montez Ford and even Chris Jericho being mentioned by fans. If it was the latter, he would be the perfect foil for Knight headed into WrestleMania season.

Most viewers think Knight’s in a similar situation to the Monster Among Men, and they’re predicting big things when he returns.

‘LA Knight is getting written off to make him a bigger star when he returns,’ insisted @Emilio__23 on X, while @MaxPopiel1 pointed out: ‘He had over 70 matches most matches out of anyone this year… well earned break… see you at the Rumble.’

And @itsmekelsey_x added: ‘LA Knight deserves a break as far as I’m concerned for having the most matches of anyone this year. So if him getting written off with that attack had to do it in order to give him it then it doesn’t bother me whatsoever.’

With the 2026 Royal Rumble less than eight weeks away, it could be that Knight will be given an extended break over the festive period.

His booking in recent months has left fans – and the wrestler himself – frustrated, as he’s never been given a main event run many viewers feel he deserves.

The 43-year-old megastar has spent decades working his way up to this level, and despite his larger-than-life charisma and confidence, he’s not always kept faith.

‘Man, I’d love to say yes, but sometimes yes, sometimes no,’ he exclusively told Metro.

Knight pointed out how WWE and ‘wrestling in general’ can be ‘such an interesting, unique business’ with a competitive edge, even with its predetermined nature.

He added: ‘I think for years and years of being on the independents and different companies and whatnot, you just get used to kind of looking over your shoulder and just thinking, “Alright, at any point somebody’s gonna try and pull the carpet out from under me.”

‘So, I mean, I’m always just kind of on edge in that certain way where it’s like, I got put in that position, and then I’m just like, “Alright, well, now what?” ‘

Knight did have a recent resurgence of sorts when he made it to the final of the Last Time Is Now tournament, with 16 wrestlers competing for the chance to face John Cena in his farewell match at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

He beat a returning Zack Ryder in the opening round before wins over Jey Uso and The Miz, before losing to GUNTHER.

The Ring General will now face Cena in his last ever match this weekend, while Knight’s immediate future appears unclear.

WWE Raw airs Monday nights at 1am on Netflix. Saturday Night’s Main Event streams live this weekend on YouTube.
