Don’t be fooled by claims that playable builds of GTA 6 exist online, as piracy sites are flooded with fake download links.
Rockstar has had a tough week, with gameplay footage leaks from GTA 6 appearing daily, ahead of the planned Netflix Extended Look next Thursday.
The situation escalated yesterday when a leaker (or group of leakers, as it seems) known as CyberLeek seemed to demonstrate a playable build of the upcoming sequel. However, little has happened since, which suggests Rockstar has perhaps caught up with the leaker in some way.
With the possibility of a playable build being somewhere out there in the ether, piracy sites have capitalised on the situation with an abundance of download links to an alleged GTA 6 build. However, no playable version of the game is available on the internet.
If you see any links to an alleged GTA 6 build, avoid them like the plague. They are filled malware, which will damage your computer.
According to NordVPN’s chief technology officer, Marijus Briedis, this isn’t the first time fake download links to GTA 6 have erupted on piracy sites.

‘Every time GTA 6 makes headlines, leaked footage spreads through re-uploads, Discord links, and unofficial mirrors, which is exactly the environment where fake ‘leak’ downloads and credential-harvesting pages thrive,’ Briedis said (via IGN).
‘Fans looking for leaks or removed clips might land on unfamiliar sites, and in that moment they trust what they find. That’s the window attackers exploit.’
When the alleged gameplay videos emerged online, some people impersonating the leaker conjured their own clips using AI – in an attempt to trick people for the attention.
The clips from CyberLeek have all been hit with copyright strikes, which strongly suggests they are legitimate. Rockstar has yet to comment on the situation but, in the past, it hasn’t taken leaks like these lightly – with the last culprit being handed an indefinite hospital order.
It’s not clear how the leaker has obtained the footage but they’ve also come under fire from Stop Killing Games, a movement which is fighting for consumer protections, which the leaker has also pretended support for.
GTA 6 is set to launch worldwide across PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19, 2026.
