Tonight’s Big Brother: Live Final saw Richard Storry crowned the winner of Big Brother 2025.

Cameron, Elsa, Richard, Tate, Emily, and Jenny were the remaining finalists vying to win the series.

Elsa finished as the series runner-up, followed by Jenny, Cameron, Emily, and Tate taking third, fourth, fifth, and sixth place, respectively.

Walking away with a life-changing cash prize of £100,000, Richard was named the reigning champion of the reality series by hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best.

Richard, 60, one of the oldest housemates to take part in Big Brother’s 25-year history and the oldest winner in the show’s history, was visibly emotional about the news.

Earlier in the series, viewers were left in tears after Richard revealed that he had adopted a 33-year-old refugee as his son.

Big Brother 2025 controversies

Here’s a rundown of all the Big Brother 2025 controversies…

George Gilbert removed from the house: George Gilbert was removed from the Big Brother house for ‘repeated use of unacceptable language and behaviour,’ most of which was not broadcast. George had previously been handed a verbal warning for discriminatory behaviour two days before his exit.

Jenny out Zelah: Jenny unintentionally outed Zelah, who is transgender, to the house. Zelah had only told a select few in the house when Jenny let his secret slip. Jenny later apologised for her actions, and Zelah forgave her as her behaviour had not been malicious.

Caroline misgenders Zelah: 398 viewers complained to Ofcom after Caroline called Zelah Glasson ‘a girl’ during a game. The incident saw Caroline receive a formal warning and she was told that any other instances would result in her removal from the house.

Feyisola and Cameron B argument: 261 people complained to Ofcom about a heated argument between Feyisola and Cameron B, which ended with Cameron storming away while shouting profanity.

He gained further support for his reactions to fellow contestant Caroline’s behaviour towards him, which some viewers considered inappropriate.

Fans were quick to share their excitement about Richard’s win, with X user @languageloves writing: ‘RICHARD IS THE OFFICALLY THE OLDEST HOUSEMATE TO WIN BIG BROTHER, I AM SO HAPPY FOR HIM AND HE DESERVES IT SO MUCH #BBUK’

@bridiemia_ posted: ‘Couldn’t have been a more perfect final two actually. Two completely different characters but who’ve captured the essence of Big Brother as the weeks have gone by – not to mention a young woman and an old man, a child of adoption and an adoptive father 🥹 utterly OBSESSED! #BBUK’

@robmcaleese wrote: ‘Over the moon for Richard. 🥇He encompasses what big brother IS about and i hope this encourages the casting team next series to get more diverse with age ranges and isn’t mostly made up of 20+ year olds again.’

It was a triumphant ending to a controversial season, after contestant George Gilbert was kicked off the show.

The 23-year-old parish councillor stirred up plenty of controversy during his short time in the house by jumping into debates with people over immigration, housing, and LGBT rights and representation.

The ITV reality series issued a number of warnings to Gilbert after he made comments such as saying he would ‘feel like he is betraying his kind’ by having a baby with a Black woman and arguing Hitler was ‘misguided’ over his views on Jewish people.

Ultimately, it was his comments around the Jewish community that led to his removal during a discussion about conspiracy theories.

But all of the previous turmoil was forgotten this evening as Richard smiled broadly as he took in the news of his big win.

Tonight’s show also saw ITV officially confirm Big Brother will return for another series in 2026.

Applications have now opened for Big Brother 2026, with potential housemates being asked to commit up to eight weeks for the programme next autumn.
