Billy Joel’s wife Alexis shared a touching post on social media celebrating the singer on Father’s Day.
The Sunday, June 15, post that was shared on the singer’s page expressed how grateful they are to have Joel in their life.
“This Fatherâs Day is extra special. We are always grateful and thankful but this year really reminded us how lucky we are to have you,” the post began.
A series of images showed Joel with the two daughters he shares with Alexis. The images included a family photo at a history museum as well as Joel in the snow with his daughters. There was also a selfie of Alexis with Joel in the back of a vehicle.
It continued, “We are so blessed to have such a strong, determined man in our lives. You are a wonderful support for us and we only hope we can be the same for you. We love you and know you will be rocking out next year.”
Alexa Ray Joel Shared an Equally Heartfelt Post
Joel’s eldest daughter, whom he shares with model Christie Brinkley, also took to the social media platform to gush about her dad.
She shared a black and white image of the two when she was a toddler with her face covered in chocolate. She added in the comments that the photo was from 1990.
“Thanks for giving me all the love, wisdom, melodies, heart, and soul I could ever ask for. Hey, Iâm even lucky enough to have a timeless lullaby and a beautiful boat named after me!” she began. “I remain forever touched and grateful that you have given me so much. Thank you for your generous spirit, endlessly deep intellect, and sweeping musical legacy.”
She also joked about having her face covered in chocolate in the throwback image.
“Iâm lucky to have been so damn spoiled by you back in the day⦠after all, you gave me all the chocolate a daughter could ever ask for!” she added.
Brinkley ended up commenting about how Joel could never tell Alexa no.
“He just couldnât say ‘no’ to you Alexa Ray! You had him wrapped around your finger! (And I think you still do! ðâ¤ï¸â¤ï¸),” she wrote.
Joel Was Diagnosis With a Brain Condition
Joel announced in May he was diagnosed with a brain condition called Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus.
He released a statement via Instagram saying that he would be canceling his tour while he recovers.
The announcement detailed how performing made his condition worse, and he is undergoing physical therapy.
âIâm sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience, and thank you for understanding,” Joel said at the time.
