Brianne Howey Says Motherhood Changed How She Sees Georgia
âPrior to having a child, of course, I thought many of the Georgia-isms were absolutely insane and unhinged and over the top, and why is she taking up so much space?â she said.
That all changed after she gave birth to her daughter in June 2023.
âNow that I have a child, I am so obsessed with her that I understand why Georgia is so obsessed with Ginny, and my heart only got bigger and I just have even more respect for all the moms out there.â
She announced the arrival of her baby girl with a heartfelt post on Instagram, cradling her newborn in her arms.
âMy whole world just got a whole lot sweeter. And smaller,â she captioned the photo. âWelcome my little love ð.â
Brianne Shared Her Real Birth Story in a Netflix Scene
Motherhood didnât just affect Howeyâs personal lifeâit made its way into her acting, too.
In an interview with DC Film Girl, she revealed that a scene in the Netflix film “Kinda Pregnant” was based on her real-life birth story. The idea came from her co-star Amy Schumer.
âAmy [Schumer] called me the night before and said, âWhy is nobody talking about their birth stories?â So thatâs what we did,â Howey remembered. âThen the next day, we went to set and thatâs my real birth story, actually.â
The scene is raw and emotional. âEverything went awry. I started bleeding out a lot. And [my baby] was on my chest, so I was actually in heaven. I was so fine. But I guess what was happening wasnât okay. I was just losing a lot, a lot of blood. And it was the first time I saw [my husband] Steve scared.â
Schumerâs character asks, âDid you think you were gonna, like, die?â Howey replies, âMaybe.â
âSo it was a really intimate, kind of in the moment felt a little bit risky, but very safe at the same time because it was just me and Amy,â she added. âAnd Iâm so grateful to her for wanting to take a swing and really go big with that scene.â
Season 3 of “Ginny & Georgia” kicks off right where it left off â with Georgia getting arrested for murder at her wedding. And from that shocking moment, things only spiral further. You can start streaming the new season now.
