As rumours of a feud in the Beckham camp rage on, Brooklyn Beckham and wife Nicola Peltz have shared a defiant message about tackling ‘nonsense’ reports.
Earlier this year, the 26-year-old budding chef and the Lola actress, 30, were noticeably absent from David Beckham’s lavish 50th birthday celebrations, where the rest of the family partied into the early hours with a host of A-list guests.
Since then, the young couple has kept their distance from Brooklyn’s famous fam, with the former photographer seemingly making a dig at his parents recently with a cryptic Instagram post.
Sharing a video of himself and Nicola riding a motorbike, he declared proudly in the caption to ‘always choose’ his wife of three years.
Naturally, this only led to more speculation about the alleged fallout with his mum and dad.
Now, the Peltz-Beckhams are sharing the limelight once more with a hot new photoshoot, showcasing their sizzling chemistry in a high-fashion spread for Glamour Germany.
As for the accompanying interview, it appears Brooklyn and Nicola wish to remind people that there are two sides to every story.
Speaking to the publication, the lovebirds were asked how they ‘protect [their] privacy’.
Brooklyn responded rather tellingly: ‘Don’t listen to all the nonsense.
‘Keep your head down, work hard, stay friendly.
‘There will always be people who talk. The important thing is that we’re happy together.’
Meanwhile, Nicola made a dig at ‘fake’ reports about them.
‘It’s not always easy,’ she admitted. ‘Stories about us are constantly popping up on TikTok.
‘When I read fake news, I’d love to deny it immediately, but it’s not worth it. The only thing I can do is scroll away and move on.’
They went on to make more apparent thinly veiled digs when asked what their ‘most important advice’ is to other young couples.
‘Always be honest,’ stated Brooklyn. ‘There’s nothing worse than hiding something from each other.’
Agreeing, Nicola replied: ‘My parents taught me, always tell the truth; we’ll help you. I still carry this attitude of being open and honest deep in my heart today.’
‘You never regret it,’ she added. ‘On the contrary: True closeness only comes from genuine connection, that is, when you have the courage to be honest.’
The pair’s remarks follow younger Beckham brother Cruz’s Instagram Story in which he shared a rather cryptic message about ‘telling the truth’.
Cruz, 20, wrote to his followers last week: ‘It takes 43 muscles in your face to frown, and 17 to smile. Be kind and tell the truth.’
Sources previously told Metro that Brooklyn felt ‘disappointed in himself’ for missing his dad’s big birthday, while mum Victoria is said to be desperate for a reconciliation.
However, it appears Brooklyn is sticking to his word and siding with his wife, unable to speak highly enough of her in their latest interview.
Elsewhere in their Glamour chat, Brooklyn confessed that he knew he wanted to marry Nicola after just three months of dating, hence, he popped the question after six months with a ring he had already bought.
‘I always wanted to get married early. When I met Nicola, it was just obvious,’ he admitted.
He went on to call Nicola his ‘best friend’ and someone he ‘feels at home with’.
But it certainly isn’t one-sided, with Nicola explaining affectionately: ‘My parents always told me, “When you meet the right person, you’ll feel it.” As a child, I thought, “How will I ever know that?” But it’s true.
‘It’s this deep feeling of security that spreads throughout your entire body, a calmness, a sense of arrival. I had never experienced that before.’
The movie star and director mentions her parents and the advice they’ve given her several times in the spread, while Brooklyn does not.
Brooklyn only brings up his mum and dad when discussing his plethora of tattoos, saying they wanted him to ‘be of legal age’ before he got inked.
The media personality reckons he has over 100 tattoos now, some of which are in tribute to his family or matching designs.
Most, though, are in honour of Nicola, as he even has their wedding vows on his body.
On the inkings that he loves the most, Brooklyn explained: ‘Some mean a lot to me, like Nicola’s eyes on my neck or our wedding vows. I also have the Star of David and a tattoo honouring my grandfather.’
‘I love it when Brooklyn gets tattoos that have a special story. He also got my mother’s rosary tattooed on his hand,’ Nicola chimed in.
It’s apparent they are more loved up than ever, still going strong after first confirming their romance at the start of 2020.
As for their relationship with Brooklyn’s parents, it remains to be seen whether bridges will be built.
An insider recently told Metro that Spice Girls icon Victoria, 51, is hoping Brooklyn will ‘come around’ amid their alleged rift.
‘Victoria hates to think about her family being so divided, especially with it involving one of her children. Brooklyn’s absence at David’s 50th birthday party was noticeable, and she desperately wished he would have been there,’ said the source.
‘She’s hoping Brooklyn will come around and see things for what they are. They’ve always been a close-knit family, and seeing how things are now has been devastating for Victoria and David.’
Similarly, while the cause of the drama remains unknown, David is also said to be ‘desperate to make amends’ with his son, especially after falling out with his own father, Ted, in 2005.
