Brooklyn Beckham has been flooded with comments from fans urging him to make amends with his dad David Beckham, after the chef skipped his knighthood ceremony.
The 50-year-old former England captain from London was awarded the title for his services to sport and charity, receiving the honour from King Charles at Windsor Castle this week.
He was accompanied by his parents and wife, Lady Victoria Beckham, as well as three of their children Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14.
Not present was Brooklyn, who has been in a rumoured rift with his parents for months.
While the family later paid tribute to David on Instagram, Brooklyn has treated the milestone in his dad’s life with radio silence.
The 26-year-old’s followers have since taken to his latest video on Instagram to urge Brooklyn to get in touch with his father.
In the clip, Brooklyn can be seen prepping a beef Wellington, which even prompted a congratulatory comment from Gordon Ramsay.
But in the week since the post, followers have taken to the comments section to note his absence from his dad’s important investiture.
Michelle Morales wrote: ‘Oh Brooklyn, you don’t realise it now, but you will one day regret these decisions. You can’t get these missed opportunities of being present at special family moments back.’
Renée Duncan echoed: ‘Your dad became a “Sir” and you were MIA??? You’ll regret this one day.’
‘Reach out to your dad Brooklyn,’ urged Alexandra Erodotou in the comments. ‘Congratulate him!! Such a special day for him and your mother. One day when they are gone you will regret it. Your father is a humble man.’
Louise Phillips questioned: ‘Dear me you will regret this so much one day. Who on earth would not prioritise their father and mother on such a historic and important day?’
At the investiture event, Sir David described it as ‘without doubt my proudest moment’, adding: ‘I’ve been very obviously lucky in my career to have won what I’ve won and done what I’ve done but to receive an honour like this, of a knight, is beyond anything that I ever thought that I would receive.
‘To be honest, a young boy from the east end of London, born in Leytonstone, and here at Windsor Castle, being honoured by His Majesty the King – the most important and the most respected institution in the world – it’s quite a moment.’
The footballer added that he appreciates that his name has made it possible for him to work with charities, which is something he is passionate about.
Metro contacted Brooklyn Beckham’s representative for comment.
