Brooklyn Beckham has made a big declaration of love to his wife, Nicola Peltz, as they celebrate their anniversary.
The eldest son of the Beckhams, 27, and the billionaire heiress, 31, tied the knot in 2022 at a lavish Palm Beach wedding that appears to have played a major role in Brooklyn’s estrangement from his family.
From claims of an ‘inappropriate’ mother-son dance to friction between Posh Spice and her to-be daughter-in-law over wedding dresses to an off-note speech from dad, Sir David – the festivities seem to have spelt the beginning of the end.
After several months of unexplained absences from Brooklyn at family occasions, the aspiring chef broke his silence in January to confirm he was not in contact with his family – including siblings Romeo, Cruz and Harper – and was focusing on life with his wife in Los Angeles.
At the time, the blistering takedown claimed his family had been ‘trying endlessly to ruin [his] relationship since before [his] wedding, and it hasn’t stopped’, shared their side of the debacle over Nicola’s wedding dress and listed several slights against her.
It seems his determination to stand by his wife is as strong as ever, with a pointed remark in his anniversary post about ‘protecting’ her on social media.
‘Happy anniversary Nicola, I can’t tell you how much I love you x. You are my best friend and I love you more than life itself xx
‘I am so lucky to be able to call you my wife xx You are my absolute princess and I promise to always protect you xx,’ he wrote in the heartfelt caption.
This was shared alongside a picture of the two of them in casual clothing, standing in front of a golf cart with glasses of wine in hand. The second photo showed the two of them hugging.
Meanwhile, Nicola shared her own post marking the special occasion, using the same golf cart photo shoot, including a snap of the two of them kissing.
‘Happy anniversary, my love. You make life so beautiful. Thank you for being the most amazing husband I could ever dream of,’ she said.
It’s not clear exactly what anniversary they’re marking here, as they first met in October 2019, before going Instagram official with their relationship in January 2020.
Their wedding took place in April 2022, but they did have an intimate vow renewal – from which the Beckhams were notably absent – in August 2025, which is the closest matching date.
In a recent chat with the Daily Mail, a wedding guest who attended the ceremony four years ago recounted several awkward moments throughout the night, including an ‘odd speech’ from Brooklyn’s footballer father.
According to the publication, the pair had not been on speaking terms for three months in the lead-up to the big day. When the time for the speech arrived, Becks was reportedly almost entirely focused on the father-son relationship and Nicola was hardly a footnote.
They added that the atmosphere at the post-wedding brunch the next day was ‘like someone had died’.
Just earlier this month, the Beckhams were a stone’s throw from their estranged son and his wife after both were spotted holidaying in the South of France, with the young couple spending time with Elton John on his yacht.
At one point, they were as close as five minutes walk from each other.
