K-pop supergroup BTS are officially back together â and working on a brand new album â five years after the boy band released their fourth studio album, âMap of the Soul: 7,â in 2020. Since then, fans of the South Korean group have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of new music from its seven members: RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin and V.
BTSâs reunion comes after the last of its members completed their mandatory military service in June 2025. During a live broadcast on Weverse on July 1, the group announced that they would be releasing their as-yet-untitled comeback album in Spring of 2026.
Recent rumors, however, suggest that new music from the global sensations may be on its way even sooner than next Spring, with the Irish Sun reporting that BTS has âalready recordedâ an unreleased Michael Jackson song for an upcoming tribute album honoring the late King of Pop.
The King of Popâs Unreleased Songs Allegedly Being Re-Recorded for Tribute Album
According to the report, BTS, alongside a number of other artists, have united to record an album composed of tracks penned by Michael Jackson during the summer of 2006. At the time, Jackson was living in a converted cow shed with his family in Ireland.Â
Now, nearly 20 years after the tracks were first created by Jackson at Grouse Lodge, the renowned Irish music studio has announced that âa tribute to Michael Jackson is in the works, bringing to life the songs he worked on during his time in Ireland.â
The report similarly stated that recording sessions for the upcoming tribute album began in 2024, adding that âwe have already had the Korean boy band BTS over with us in Grouse Lodge, recording one of the songs.â
BTS have long been vocal about their love for the King of Pop. In addition to incorporating Jacksonâs iconic choreography into their own show-stopping performances, BTS even appeared in the singerâs 2023 documentary âThriller 40.â

Grouse Lodge Studiosâ Paddy Dunning added that âthereâs about ten more [songs], written especially for Michael by the collaborators he worked with in Ireland â including producer Rodney Jerkins and rapper Nephew, who have signed up for the project.â
MJâs work on the album, which was first referred to as the next âThriller,â remained incomplete when the superstar passed away on June 25, 2009 in Los Angeles.
The release date for the upcoming tribute album has yet to be confirmed by Grouse Lodge. Similarly, BTS have yet to confirm their participation in the project.
