While Cameron Diaz and her rockstar husband, Good Charlotte’s Benji Madden, have both spent a fair share of time in the spotlight, they tend to keep their relationship rather private. That’s why it was such a treat to see the couple during a rare appearance together during a day out in New York City.
Diaz & Madden Haven’t Been Seen Out Together in Months
Diaz and Madden’s outing caused a bit of a buzz with The Daily Mail reporting that the duo “made a rare appearance together over the weekend after her slow return to the limelight following a decade away from the movie industry. The actress, 53, and the Good Charlotte rocker, 47, opted for low-key looks as they stepped out in New York on Saturday â marking their first public outing as a couple in four months.”
During their day out on the town, Diaz “wore a white T-shirt, slouchy black trousers [with] an oversized black blazer” and “accessorised with a black waist pouch and leather shopper, while sporting a leopard print hairband,” The Mail noted. “Benji opted for a red and yellow plaid shirt, layered over loose-fitting trousers and a black T-shirt and teamed with a baseball cap.”
Diaz & Madden are Known for ‘Rarely Appearing Together’
Diaz and Madden’s “love may be private, but it’s no secret,” People noted, and while offering a little context on their relationship, explained that “the A-list actress began dating the musician in May 2014 after they met at an event hosted by Nicole Richie and her husband, Benji’s twin brother Joel. Less than a year later, the two tied the knot in a low-key ceremony at their home in Beverly Hills, California.”
“They welcomed their daughter Raddix in December 2019 and their son Cardinal in March 2024,” People added. “Throughout their 11 years of marriage, the couple has maintained a relatively low profile, rarely appearing together at public events.”
Granted, Madden occasionally mentions Diaz on Instagram, which is just what he did in a January 17, 2025 post, when he shared one photo of his wife and another of the couple together, writing, “This is my QUEEN â¤ï¸ I celebrate this BAD ASS WOMAN . Wife, Mommy, friend, partner, Boss, and lover.”
“We just hit 10 YEARS married on January 5th and every year only gets more fulfilling,” he continued. “Itâs special. Never perfect- always real- always reliable. Every day getting to have my best friend with me ride or dieâ¦.what a beautiful life- I am GRATEFUL!!! ð”
Madden also mentioned Diaz’s return to acting, saying, “We are SO happy to see youâ¦.BACK IN ACTION!!â¦.Congrats baby!!â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸ððð @camerondiaz â¤ï¸”
