Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones have reportedly slashed the price of their New York mansion two years after it first went on the market.
The eight-bedroom, 11.5 bathroom property in Irvington, Westchester County, was originally listed two years ago for the whopping sum of $12m (£8.9m).
However, according to IG Mansions, the actors have now dropped the asking price by $2.25m (£1.64m) to $9.75m (£7.2m) after failing to make a sale.
Hello! reports that the listing was removed in April 2025, and put back on the market for $10m (£7.4m) before being taken off again and relisted on March 19 for the new price.
Michael, 81, and 56-year-old Catherine moved into the property in 2019 after downsizing from their previous home, a 15,000 square foot mansion in nearby Bedford.
This property – known as Longmeadow – isn’t much smaller, spanning over 11,600 square ft on a 12-acre lot, with the house described as ‘both grand in scale and intimate in feel’.
‘Longmeadow, nestled in the heart of Irvington’s prestigious Matthiessen Park, is a true showstopper—a timeless example of Hudson River grandeur,’ the property listing says.
‘Majestically set on 12 sweeping acres of lush, open grounds, this extraordinary estate captures the full splendor of its idyllic surroundings.’
The 1920s-era riverfront home, which is fronted by a series of white columns, has undergone considerable renovations since the couple moved in.
Its features now include a two-storey library, as well as an indoor pool and fitness room, a games room, a formal living room and dining room, and a loggia on the first floor which opens on to a 100ft terrace overlooking the Hudson.
The exterior of the property also features a summer house, a second kitchen and a dining area, while other features include guest quarters and a dressing room.
And if you need somewhere to park the car while you’re staying at Catherine and Michael’s, you’ve got garage parking with room for at least four vehicles.
Despite the modernisation, real estate broker David Turner of agents Compass – who deals with luxury properties in the Westchester area – has noted that the couple have retained the historical look and style of the house.
Catherine previously revealed to Wall Street Journal that she and Michael put their previous home on the market after their now adult children had grown up and moved out.
The couple, who married in 2000, are parents to son Dylan, 25, and 23-year-old daughter Carys, while Michael is also father to 47-year-old Cameron Douglas, from his first marriage to China Syndrome producer Diandra Morrell.
Catherine said in a statement at the time: ‘When I purchased our Irvington home I knew our family would share many happy times here, and we have! Now that both our son and daughter have left the nest it seems like the right time to sell.’
The Chicago star added that she and Michael ‘plan to spend more time in Bermuda and Europe’ with her acting career increasingly taking her away from the US.
She spoke about her property portfolio in 2025, telling The Times that she owns four homes, including another in New York, as well as properties in Canada and Spain, saying: ‘I love to surround myself with beauty but it’s not excessive, it’s very comfortable’.
The actress is currently starring in the Netflix smash Wednesday as Morticia Addams, while Michael was seen most recently alongside son Cameron in the fishing-themed drama Looking Through Water — potentially his final film role ahead of retirement.
