We’re two episodes into The Celebrity Traitors, and fans think the cast are already playing dirty.
Jonathan Ross, Cat Burns and Alan Carr seemed to be working well as a team, having managed to kill off one person in plain sight and deflect most attention away from themselves.
But some viewers think they spotted a ‘diabolical move’ in which Jonathan could be spotted ‘throwing Alan under the bus’ (yes, that phrase is already being wheeled out).
After Claudia suggested someone say a few words while Paloma’s coffin was being lowered into the ground, Jonathan said: ‘Alan, you knew her the best, why don’t you say something about her?’.
Alan was clearly taken aback by the comment, especially as he had been the one to kill her with the poisoned lily.
His reaction was slightly flustered, but eventually he proclaimed: ‘Well, I think we’re all gonna miss her really.’
He went on: ‘The biggest irony is, for someone who was so full of life, and then to end like this. It just doesn’t feel fitting, and I think we’re gonna miss her.’

Jonathan then chimed confidently: ‘And we will avenge her death.’
To which Alan shouted: ‘We’re gonna get some traitors, ain’t we?’
The other celebrities cheered in response.
Viewers were quick to comment on the surprise suggestion from Jonathan. Ryan Love on X wrote: ‘Jonathan Ross, you incredible sh*t stirrer.’
Another, @raggedydocs, added: ‘For a moment there I think Alan wished he could chuck Jonathan in one of those graves for throwing him under the bus like that’.
Meanwhile, @Moiras_Wig_Wall on Reddit said: ‘Jonathan putting Alan forward for Paloma’s eulogy was diabolical and I love it.’
The two chat show hosts are not only friends outside of the Scottish castle, but also related.
In fact, Alan and Jonathan are ‘fairly close relations’.
On an episode of 8 Out of 10 Cats, Jimmy Carr asked: ‘How are you related?’
Alan replied: ‘It’s about three, four grandparents back, ain’t it?’
The revelation came after Alan went on the series, Who Do You Think You Are?
As we know, The Traitors love a secret familial connection, and this one hasn’t yet been announced.
So not only is Ross potentially compromising the safety of his friend and industry peer on the show, but also, family.
Viewers have been left hanging, not knowing who got banished from the roundtable, and how the next meeting in the turret has gone.
Will Alan confront Jonathan for making him speak at his victim’s funeral? Or let it go for the sake of peacekeeping?
The series airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9pm on BBC One, with episodes available to stream on iPlayer.
