Celebrity Traitors fans have claimed that Alan Carr has sealed his fate after making a ‘fatal mistake’ at tonight’s roundtable.

Following last night’s heart-pounding episode, that saw a history-making vote leave David Olusoga and Mark Bonnar’s exit ‘up to fate’, not many were expecting the BBC reality series to deliver a similar level of drama.

However, after yet another breathless roundtable discussion, Alan’s ‘huge’ error when he was questioned by Joe Marler about his shield has left viewers certain that he will be banished next.

Tonight’s episode started with Line of Duty star Mark exiting the Scottish castle after David correctly chose a box containing a shield.

The following morning then saw Joe Wilkinson get murdered by Alan Carr, Jonathan Ross and Cat Burns.

Throughout the episode several faithful’s began to get closer to rooting out who the traitors are, with Nick Mohammed adopting the tactic of befriending those who he deemed suspicious.

However, after a feisty chess task saw half of the contestants awarded a shield, the real drama of the night began at the roundtable.

Former England rugby player Joe Marler strongly asserted his opinion by launching an attack at Jonathan as he continued his ‘big dog theory’ of suspecting him and Sir Stephen Fry as traitors.

Yet, when Alan stepped in to deflect the attention back on to Joe, his attempt seriously misfired after making a shocking mistake.

The Chatty Man star, 49, argued how those who are vociferous at the table usually get murdered before Joe looked at him and said: ‘But you’re not going to get murdered tonight.’

As a shocked Alan looked back at Joe and questioned what he meant, fellow contestant Kate Garroway explained how he has a shield, to which he quickly realised and tried to play off as an honest mistake.

Despite his blunder not being pounced upon at the table, towards the end of the episode – after viewers learned that Stephen had been voted off by his fellow contestants – some of the other players began to question whether Alan was faithful.

After the situation was raised by Joe, comedian Lucy Beaumont agreed that a faithful would have remembered if they had a shield.
