Celebrity Traitors star Joe Marler has made quite the impression on fans as he heads into the final, but could his gusty strategy spell his doom?

The hit BBC reality series is coming to a dramatic conclusion next Thursday as our five finalists – Joe, Nick Mohammed, David Olusoga, Cat Burns and Alan Carr – fight it out to victory.

The end of the latest episode saw Joe undergo a game-changing revelation as he cracked the case that Cat and Alan were the snakes in the grass, even bringing Nick in on his theory.

Fans have been praising his deductive skills, especially after a full season of Faithfuls totally failing to pinpoint any Traitors aside from Jonathan Ross (eventually).

‘Joe Marler for Prime Minister. What a man,’ X user @onlyjoekin_ shared on X.

‘Joe Marler’s brain is ASTOUNDING like if the faithful win this, it’s because of him and that’s insane,’ @_fernfernfern said.

‘I knew very little about Joe Marler before this, but he’s fast become one of my favourite contestants. The best Faithful and probably the person I’d most like to see win the entire series. I can see big things for him after this – and deservedly so,’ @anthonydearie declared.

‘Ive been on the side of the traitors all along. In 5 minutes I have totally sided with Joe Marler and want him and Nick to win!!,’ @lilmissmorfett added.

Now, with just David left to sway, all is left to play for in the grand finale but, as we know, nothing is ever straightforward with The Traitors.

Although Cat and Alan don’t have the chance to murder in the hush of the night, who knows what powers they may unlock in the extra-long episode to target their enemies.

And, of course, the traitors have proven their prowess in the art of persuasion, which could easily put Joe’s plan to oust them once and for all into peril.

Paddy Power Bingo, body language expert, Judi James, told Metro how close the England rugby player could come to victory if he plays his cards right.

‘Joe should be the winner as he is sharp and courageous and, last night, totally right about the Traitors to the point of making fans of the show cheer out loud,’ she said.

Noting his strength to ‘trust implicitly and trust well’, likely bolstered by his experience on the field in a team sport.

She continued: ‘Joe’s fearlessness makes him an open target though as he’s never opted for keeping a low profile when it comes to speaking out.

‘He’s also been laugh-out-loud funny and his stylised walk over the bridge was one of the best meme-moments of the series.’

Many Celebrity Traitors fans believe luck may truly be on Joe’s side after Claudia confirmed there were no more murders, meaning their greatest enemy can now whisper doubt into the other contestants’ ears.

Meanwhile, banished star Kate Garraway has put her two pence into who she thinks will win the charity prize pot.

Although she was backing her fellow Faithfuls, she added: ‘I just have a sneaky feeling it’s going to be a Traitor and I have a sneaky feeling it’s going to be Alan. I think he’s a mega-star. But I don’t know, that’s just what I think.’

Celebrity Traitors finale will air at 9pm on BBC One on Thursday, November 6.
